Very lovely place. Its quiet and the views over Funchal are beautiful. The towels and linen were neat and clean. Its a detached room with very optimized use of space. There is even a micro and fridge with ample utencils. Coffee and cakes are also provided in the room, that's a very nice touch.

The room we had was big and had a fridge. Sounds of the ocean was very soothing at night.
Breakfast was basic but understandable when you pay so good price for the acommodation.

Absolutely everything! No words can describe our experience. Our room (# 15) was a two individual beds on the 2nd floor, with the view over the inner garden, swimming pool and marvelous landscape to the sea (Desertas island can be seen from the top of the main gate - to the left side). The balcony is shared with two other rooms, with hand-made table and chairs of wicker and wood. Drying rack can be provided. Clean and quiet, we were had with blankets and heating system for cooler summer nights. TV is also included (but honestly we only noticed in our last night!) A common salon for breakfast, relaxing and talking with other guests is a nice place to rest your feet after some levadas and veredas. All place is inspired with the sympathy of Mister António, who welcomed us since day 1 and along our journey, suggesting us places to visit and advising whenever the weather changed and risky places were not advised to visit for safety reasons. We would definitely recommend you to stay here. Specially, who's looking for a retreat in a local village, near to the church and a famous pastery with local and delicious local treasures open all week! As Mister António suggest, to reach this spot from the airport, follow the directions Gaula/Porto Novo (route from the coastline and way up the hill) and avoid Gaula/São Pedro (route from the coastline and way down the hill) due to few narrow and steepy streets where only one car cross.

First floor accommodation next to main road but we didn't hear any road noise.
Property was clean and tidy and staff were able to accommodate our request for us to drop our bags early (due to an early flight) and return after property was ready.

Property was two separate 1 bed apartments with an interlocking door which was opened as we had both rooms. One apartment had a nespresso machine which was nice.

this place is first and foremost a great value for money in funchal. a private room with a private bathroom at their prices is unbeatable. it's right in the center of town, less than 1 minute walk from a huge supermarket. the shared kitchen is well equipped.
you just have to be aware where you're staying. this is an old-school place that probably hasn't updated much in a few decades, so the furniture is fairly worn and the lighting a bit dim - stuff like that.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
We wish we could live here! The hosts are very welcoming, the house is clean, comfortable and lovely decorated. The view is amazing, and the location is both quiet and close to everything. Thank you Tânia and Célio, we'll come back!
Great location for the beach, food and the supermarket. It's also easy to catch a bus into Funchal, just watch out for the timing and route of return buses. The apartment feels very big and is nice and airy with the windows open. Other reviews mentioned dogs barking - this does happen but it's infrequent and it only seemed to happen during the daytime. Sound does travel from other apartments but again goes quiet at night. Check in was very easy, I had a very pleasant stay here!
Everything was alright, Rosabel is very kind and welcoming host, she came to give us the keys despite it was quite late.
Apartment is spacious and you can feel like home. View is nice, Area quiet. Getting in the parking can be a challange for people which don't like steep driveways and starting from the handbrake.
Everything was perfect! I highly recommend this apartment with its great location. Well equipped, very friendly and helpful host and perfect view from the balcony. Very close to the airport, bus stop to Funchal in front of the building. Close to the beach. Couldn't be better!
From getting there to saying goodbye was exceptional. Host greeted us with a glass of beer, took with their own car to main spots so we can get acquainted with the town. Sometimes it felt we are paying too little for the value we get :)
