We loved everything about this guesthouse! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The staff were so kind, always smiling and willing to help in any way they could. Breakfast was outstanding - served to us (vs. a buffet) in the lovely patio area. (And there was always an extra croissant for later!) There's a beautiful rooftop deck with lounge chairs; ask for a glass of wine from the bar downstairs, and you're good to go. The parlor is absolutely gorgeous if you want to stay inside and relax. Our room was huge, and even included a lighted dressing table! The location was perfect - just a short walk into town, and a 10 minute walk to the bus station. If we come back to Tavira, this is the ONLY place we would stay!

The location was perfect and the staff very helpful. Paulo was very sweet and nice. Breakfast was good too. However, one day we had a later breakfast and the options were not so good as the day before (when we had breakfast at 8am.)

The room has a lot of thought put into it. There's basic cutlery do eat and drink your food. The room was good size. The host was very nice and responsive, and gave complimentary chocolate and wine. The location is 7 minutes walk from city center, and there's and incredible bakery 2 minutes away.

Very quiet and cozy. We went during off-season and found everything outstanding! Friendly owner and wife took care of us. Spacious room with very comfortable bed. Located about a 10 minute walk from Monte Gordo. Took day trips to Vila Real de Santo Antonio and Tavira. Hiking trails were nearby and we used them as well. Very relaxing couple of days.

The room was cleaned every day, which is rare these days. The building has history (it’s an old mill), and when the tide was high, the view was nice. The walk in the salines (which is part of the property) was very nice, we saw flamingoes. There was free parking. There’s a terrace on the room which is probably great when the temperature allows you to take advantage of it. There is AC and heating so you can make the room comfortable all year round.

Olivia was most welcoming when we arrived and a brilliant host. Our room was clean, comfortable and exactly as described on the website. The breakfast was superb, with fresh fruit, interesting breads and homemade yogurt and jams. The location was wonderful, only a few steps to the beach ferry boat and lots of lovely restaurants and a supermarket in the vicinity.
We had stayed in a host of larger hotels across the Algarve, and chose Casa Viana, because we knew that it would be completely different, small, homey, sincere, with extremely warm owner and her brother. A real Portuguese Guesthouse. Each morning lovely breakfasts were offered. In the last century, the current owner's grandfather had used it as a factory for processing Octopuses. Boats to the island are just outside the door, and there are countless restaurants and bars just down the street.
