We booked a room earlier, but when we arrived, we were given a different one. The room we were given does not match the one attached in the photo in the PDF. Instead, we were given a small cottage-like room or KUBO. My companions didn’t want to check-in to that room, so we demanded to stay in the one we originally booked. However, the owner asked us to pay an additional amount, making our total payment 3,000 plus tax and fees pesos instead of the 1,500 pesos we initially agreed upon booking.
I reported this to the owner because this situation is entirely unacceptable. We were forced to pay another 1,500 pesos because we had no other choice since the room was already paid for. The owner even told my staff that we would be staying in the small cottage without air conditioning. We had no choice but to stay there, but one of the pools wasn’t even available for swimming.
I’m attaching photos here for you to see that the room we were given is not at all suitable, and the resort overall is very disappointing. Plus, the room we were given was dirty. Please take a look at the photo attached. The room is in such poor condition it resembles lizard droppings. Plus their air condition is not in good condition.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Fantastic location, waking up to blue water outside my window. Aircon, easy going vibe, a beautiful balcony upstairs to enjoy the sunset or coffee. Babe and Adelyn were great hosts. Value for money cannot be beaten on Malapascua. Also, I felt that my belongings and self were safe. Comfy mattress too :) originally booked 3 nights, stayed 7.
Great location, near the market. Five minutes walk to the beach (though the island is small anyway 🙂).
AC and fan.
Very nice hosts - here and there some glitches, but all was taken care with a smile.
Marlon was a great host, super friendly and ready to help. The room overlooking the sea was amazing, with the terrace. Plus you get normal beds instead of bunk beds, lots of storage space and bathroom inside of the room. The place was always kept clean and it is right next to the port, restaurants, bars and the beach
The room was absolutely lovely, spacious and clean. We stayed 4 nights and the sheets were changed to our surprise after night 2! Coffee and tea topped up and mugs cleaned every day which was lovely. The hosts were helpful whenever we needed them. Quiet area no noise at all really!!
The staff went above and beyond at this hostel when I was unwell to take care of me - much appreciated! Compared to other hut stays we've had in The Philippines this was one of the best. The room had a fan and the bed was up off the ground. There is a quiet beach a five minute walk on the north tip of the island. The main beaches are a 30 minute walk south.
I had an amazing stay at Neverland hostel. Richard and everyone was so kind and so welcoming. The location is so nice, near the beach and it’s very quiet there. The diving, the food, the accommodation, everything was perfect.
I 100% recommend you to go there.
