My daughter stayed with host Murielle for three nights and four days and her hospitality was truly exceptional! She experienced the real Moorea & French Polynesian culture of kindness, care and hospitality from Murielle and other local people. Staying at Fare Mihimana was a pleasure, being able to rest and relax in a beautifully furnished guestroom with everything you need, and it was nestled in a tropical garden paradise. Murielle gave some fruits growing in her garden to eat in a fruit bowl on the dining table. Fare Mihimana is located within a short walking distance of the ferry dock at Vai'are which is so handy with lots of services, shops, supermarket, eateries close by. Murielle gave great tips on visiting local spots and helped organise taxi and recommended excursions and things to do on Moorea. My daughter will never forget her wonderful stay at Fare Mihimana. Our bungalow was clean and well equipped with a kitchen, kettle, fridge, fan, television, and AC. The property has nice areas to chill including a pool and a hammock under some trees.
The location is beautiful and peaceful and is protected from the easterly winds, but is not close to the main tourist areas/towns on the island so you will need a vehicle to get around. There’s a roulotte right next door for typical local dinner, and an excellent local seafood restaurant a few minutes down the road.
Finally the hosts Marie-Do and Didier are lovely - they were very helpful and made us feel very welcome.

We loved the layout of the home and the swing on the deck. The lagoon a few meters down the beach was also wonderful for swimming all together each morning.

I really loved this property, the staff and location were amazing. There’s a great restaurant on site which overlooks the private beach as well as other places to eat nearby. The dormitory was very comfortable and not too hot at night. The beach was good and you have free access to kayaks, great sunset spot too!

They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Great location with fantastic views of Captain Cook's Bay, a nice sized pool & a well equipped kitchen. Clean & comfortable (with fluffy towels). Short walk away from restaurants & a groceries, 40min walk to ATM. Chantal was helpful & patient when helping us arrange a hire car. Rooms are in Chantal's home so she's usually available should you have any queries.

The location is breathtaking and the two hosts are really kind and helpful!
I had many questions about tours at the island Moorea and car rental and Meghan answered all my questions and even helped to book me some tours she recommended.
Also they arranged a taxi (upon my request) who would pick me up at the ferry and drop them at their accommodation.

Amazing view of pool and ocean from our large balcony. Bed was super comfy, rooms were very clean and quiet considering the road is nearby. Reception staff very friendly and nice.

What a special place! Absolutely phenomenal view of Cooks Bay throughout the property, especially from the upstairs terrace. Chantal was a warm and wonderful host and was always on hand to offer advice/tips on the local area, and kindly offered transfers that were much more reasonably priced than taxis. It very much feels like staying in a home, with a great kitchen and pool available to use.
We especially loved her adorable doggies who greeted us enthusiasically each morning!
