Location is key here. Close to two beaches and two wonderful walking tracks as well. only 2 min by car to Russell Township itself and about an hour on foot (one can combine two lovely shaded walking tracks for that). Russell's Long Beach (another fab swimming beach) is only about 5 min by car. The room is spacious and has all the amenities one would need for a short or longer stay (sorry no kitchen but there are plenty of good restaurants in Russell). Tapeka is the quiet suburb of Russell and if one is lucky one can view kiwi if going out at night.
Paradise on The Strand enjoys a location in Russell, a 4-minute walk from Russell Museum and half a mile from Flagstaff Hill.

I don’t know how this accommodation could be any better - it’s location on The Strand, the amazing view of the bay from the patio, the delicious, homemade breakfast delivered to your apartment every day, the most gracious, thougtful host. It was just wonderful. I told my husband, cancel the rest of our roadtrip around the North Island, let’s just stay here. Highly recommend!

It was in a beautiful quiet idyllic setting with amazing views from balcony of Russell Bay, short walk to the lovely town and bay. Very comfortable with all amenities and fresh fruit and breakfast provided. Sue is a wonderful host who is very involved in the community and has vast information about the area. We loved it.
The hosts are a charming and personal couple. We had a bit of luck, got an upgrade, and had ample space for the three of us. The rooms are tidy and well-equipped. Lots of onsite parking, a nice pool and pool area, and quiet surroundings. We came back a day later to stay for another two nights.
Great location and lovely atmosphere with charming rooms and garden. beds were comfy and there was a dining table and lounge in our room. Baden, our host, was helpful and friendly. the cooking facilities I. the room were great and we made our own breakfast daily. Lovely upstairs suite, with a large deck facing north and west. On the waterfront, right in the heart of Russell, yet quiet and peaceful at the same time. The host, Karen was terrific: friendly, but never intrusive. We got fresh fruit, yogurt etc provided for the continental breakfast, along with cereals, toast, juice and delicious homemade preserves. :-)
