We really liked the location, very calm and surrounded by nature. The owner is very nice and the dinner was great. The price-to-value ratio is great here.

The best stay in Sri Lanka so far. Priya was so helpful! He sent us the bus schedule from Ella to Tissa, he drove us around the lake to see crocodiles and birds, and bats at a late time, he also arranged the safari in Yala for us for a great price, and prepared an early breakfast before leaving at 4:30. He drove us with his tuktuk when we needed to catch the bus to Tangalle and checked that we had successfully arrived. The room was also cozy and the location of the hotel is not far from the main road.

The entire family that run this place are about the nicest people you will ever meet. They did above and beyond to help me out, notably finding and then physically hailing mystery bus #10 direct to Elle which saved me 7 hours travel time.
Facilities were clean, comfortable and relaxing even though, because I was too cheap to pay for air conditioning, a little hot in the early evenings. I suggest you choose more wisely. They have free bikes, which I was unable to take advantage of but others raved about and the on site food was very good.
Bring guitar pics, music, and a few licks for their talented son.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Specially staff was professional and friendly. Food was amazing. Great location.
The restaurant manager Mr Kazim was very nice. Rest of the staff was also very friendly.
A great location, close to Bundalla National Park. The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. Lagoon Inn has a very relaxed vibe, and the hosts, Kamal and his wife, are beautiful people and very helpful when it comes to tips about the area, transport, etc.
Kamal organised our safari and it was fantastic. It was very relaxing and it felt like we had the park to ourselves, unlike the larger, better known parks. We saw plenty of monkeys, elephants, birdlife, crocodiles and even deer, although only briefly.
Among the best guest houses I've been. Very friendly and helpful owner, excellent food and tea, central and quiet location with sea view, 100m from beach and 500m from main bus station. Room had private bathroom, fan, good ventilation and daylight, is mosquito-proof when doors closed, and had a balcony with sea view. Free wifi is available. Very good value for money. It's very pleasant to sit on the balcony or in the shaded garden in the breeze, hear the sound of the waves and enjoy the view.
Quiet, spacious shady balcony outside the rooms and a lookout platform that is great for birdwatching and sunsets. Hosts welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable, especially on the birdlife having worked as a guide at Bundala National Park. The accommodation which included air conditioning was great too. The location is ideal being within walking distance to Bundala National Park. The safari they organised was fantastic (they own the jeep) were a good price and professional. .
Quiet place at the beach.few steps and you are on a long, open and beautiful sand beach. The host makes good food and is very resposive and friendy.good for people who like sea view, nature an relax.
This guesthouse is right on a long, quiet beach about ten minutes walk from the town. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. He set up a table with umbrella and chairs outside of our bungalow where he cooked us an amazing breakfast and dinner. For supper, he barbecued fresh fish, potatoes and salad on our porch. This quest house is reasonably priced and in an absolutely stunning location.
Great location in the town, about 7 minutes walk from the bus station. It's a quiet location with jungle garden. In this family homestay you are made to feel very welcome. The host is naturally considerate and adjusts things to make your stay comfortable. If you chose to have meals, they are substantial and delicious.
The pure Sri Lanka out of touristic rush and busy spaces you can find exactly here. The place we spent 4 days was amazing! Hospitable ser Rizvi Thaliph with good English and deep understanding of the World, fish diners from the real local fish market (not for tourists but for people), cheap prices for everything (fruits, food, local products), incredible safari from the host and elephants, buffaloes, birds, crocodiles. The best place ever to relax, rethink yourself, work and leisure.
