This was our second visit to Rainforest River Bay, and we were fortunate to be offered a free upgrade to a family room, which was much better than the standard room. The family space is located on the top floor and has a room two beds (one double, one regular) and two spacious balconies. One of them features a large table, along with a comfortable sofa and armchairs, creating a private space where you can relax with your family.
Breakfasts were included in our stay, and we also ordered dinners from the host. The food was perfect and delicious. Both the owner and his wife are very kind people. The owner works at Sinharaja National Park and can guide you through the park if you're interested.
The location is excellent, just 100 meters from the main road, in the natural bay of Gin Ganga, giving you the feeling of staying in the jungle. There’s a small forest next to the lodge where you can safely explore the local wildlife at night. You can even take a dip in the river if you like.
Overall, I highly recommend this property for nature lovers.

Highlight of our tour in Sunharaja Rainforest! We absolutely loved doing this tour and would recommend it to ANYONE who wants to do an experience in Deniyaya area. Our guide Bandula was brilliant - super friendly, helpful, considerate and extremely knowledgeable - educating us not only on the food element but about Sinharaja in general. His wife cooked Srilankan authentic food for us and those were really delicious which is true but you will definitely come away feeling VERY full from all the tasters. Thank you again Bandula and while family- we wouldn't have wanted anybody else to show us around!

Great location for visiting the Sinharaja rainforest. Tour guide is arranged by the hosts. Great guide who can make gorgeous pictures and has a sharp eye for animal spotting. Beautiful swimming pool with fireflies. Definitely go swimming in the dark (in your phone light). Cute dogs. Good food by the mother for a fair price. Use a tuk tuk rather than taxi from Deniyaya, because the road is not suitable for a car. The host was kind enough to offer us a tuk tuk ride to our taxi driver. There are mosquito nets around the bed, use them!
Staying at the rainforest cabin was one of the highlights of our one month long stay in sri lanka. The place is incredibly beautiful and it was so nice to be surrounded by nature. Ravindra is a great host and made our stay really special. He arranged a guided rainforest tour for us and took us on a little hike close to the cabin. We would not change a thing and can only recommend staying at this hidden gem.
The owners are very kind and welcoming. They can help you to arrange hiking in the forest with a great and passionate guide. You can ask for breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the guest house. The three dinners I took were exceptional, especially the grilled chicken with the vegetables.
The place is clean and quiet, it's easy to sleep, you have a Mosquito net for the bed.
The location is an excellent place to start the trip to the forest and the hosts super friendly. Food was delicious. Very much appreciated the quietness during my stay. The guide the family organised for my trip to the rainforest had outstanding knowledge about all plants, animals and great humour. Highly recommend the accommodation and the tour guide.

The Sinharaja forest tour was also a very good experience, our guide (the owner of the Nest) being very knowleadgeble of what is going on in the forest (he spotted a lot of birds/animals and told us a lot about their behavior).
All in all we just recommend this place by our hearts.
