The Lookout Lodge is simply amazing. It’s an oasis which has been developed with much love and care. The people running it are wonderful, the rooms are clean and stylish and the swimming pool is perfect. It’s a 5 minute walk to the (empty) beach and a 10 min walk to the turtle rescue center. It only has four rooms so it’s quiet and private. You have a unique view of the lagoon with all kinds of animals, and peacocks that love to use the roof of the lodge!

Almost everything was amazing. They enhanced the natural beauty of their location rather than carving out a place for their rooms. Very friendly staff too

We loved the nature, there are peacocks and parrots around, which was amazing, the views are stunning and the owners are so kind! We stayed in a room upstairs and we had the most wonderful view from our balcony. The beach is a very short walk away. We loved it here and we didn’t want to leave.

Lots of highlights - beautiful garden and lake with lots of birds, the very welcoming host who is also an excellent chef (we LOVED her Sri Lankan breakfasts and dinners), delicious wood apple juice and coconut water, close proximity to a secluded and peaceful beach.
The upstairs room was huge, most comfortable and had everything we needed. The pillows and the mattress were of high quality. The wooden armchairs and the hammock on the (huge) terrace were excellent for relaxing and bird watching.

The Waves Beach Chalet is set on a glorious stretch of beach, in a beautiful garden. We loved it so much we stayed on for an extra night. Our host was such a gentleman and made our stay so special. The meals were prepared with love and so beautifully presented.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
