The owner was very friendly and helpful. Even when handling our late arrival or our last minute plans for Naoshima (or giving us back a kids watch we left behind), he was always willing to help.

good location in a quiet area, near the castle park and not far from the train station. The house is big enough and nice to stay in

I highly recommend this hostel! The owners definitely invested a lot of love and care into this place. The rooms are not cramped as in other hostels and there is so much space. What you get in a dorm, is a box bed, with a lower and an upper a floor, where you can sleep upstairs and have your own little private space in the bottom. That's really nice to sit or just layer out all your luggage. The staff and owner are also really nice and helpful. There's a really big and well equipped kitchen. And you can chill on the roof top, where you can also hang your laundry with a laundry machine and a dryer next to it.
I can only highly recommend this place.
And if you're into cat: there's a cat café on the ground floor with two beautiful Sphinx cats.

It was a cozy room with a private bathroom in a small Japanese house. The owner arrived promptly after being called before our arrival.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Great location, the guesthouse is small but so confortable ! Dormitory is just 4 spacious individual beds, this is amazing. Also, great host, who gives a lot of good recommendation around for restaurants and places to have drink. Would definitely recommend and come back ! +++
This is my favourite place to stay in Takamatsu. Of all the guest houses I've stayed in, this has THE comfiest beds. Layout of the guesthouse is good, and the location is excellent! There's now a new vegetarian restaurant downstairs too! looking forward to trying it next time I stay here.
Traditional, clean, quiet, perfect! Our host went out of his way to make us feel at home, he even drove out to us walking back in the rain to deliver us umbrellas!
The place is beautifully maintained!
It is quiet, tidy and clean, with that hint of an aesthetic touch that makes you feel at ease. The staff is friendly and courteous.
Hard to find anything better, one of the best hostels I have stayed in :)
Great location, in the middle of a shopping street. Nice little Onsen (separate opening hours for women and men). Free welcome drink. Very friendly staff. Cheap washing machine.
Wunderbare Architektur - ein Hotel mit Geschichte und sehr zuvorkommendem Gastgeber! Splendid architecture - a Family-Home turned into a beautiful hotel with lots of history and a great host!
Lovely staff, use of the washing machine was a plus and they provided detergent, small dorms only sharing with one or 3 others which makes it quieter. Great location - near the shopping street but 25min walk to the station however there is a train you can catch which is close by
Honestly, I liked everything. The bed was very spacious, the common room and kitchen had everything I needed and downstairs was a co-working space with small cubicles where I could sit in private without disturbing anyone. I loved the details they put into the design of the hostel. It had a very nice vibe. Also, there is a supermarket around the corner, which is very convenient. I would definitely stay here again! Yes, it is not in the city center, but there is a tramstation very close by.
Very easy to find, simple check-in with real people rather than machines and instructions, comfy beds, quiet, and a carpark right out the front. We had a car which made this very convenient. Not sure how close it is to public transport but not far from the city centre.
