Mont Cervin Myoko, hotel in Myoko

Located an 5-minute drive from Akakura Kanko Ski Resort in the highland area, Mont Cervin Myoko provides cozy accommodations surrounded by oak trees. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas.

Mont Cervin is a fantastic place to stay. It is an old school Ryokan style lodge with shared bathrooms and showers, both of which allow for individual privacy. My wife and I elected to stay in a Japanese style room with rice mat floors and futons on the floor. I recommend this type of room for a Ryokan like this. The facilities are clean, warm and inviting. What really sets Mont Cervin apart is the owners. Shun and Takako are wonderful people who bend over backwards for their guests. Shun would drive us to the ski hill in the mornings and to town at 6:00pm every evening do get dinner. They also provide a lovely breakfast. We happened to be there during the traditional Japanese "New Years" celebration which is the last day of winter. Shun and Takako held a lively celebration for the guests. It was soooo fun!

The location was perfect, right down the slopes, and the room was big enough for our size group (6). The hotel also has a restaurant, and the owner was very kind preparing a Vegan option for me to dinner in.

Madarao Elm Pension, hotel in Myoko

Located a 30-minute drive away from JR Iiyama Train Station, Madarao Elm Pension offers free Wi-Fi in all areas and a great view of the surrounding nature.

Maybe we were lucky to share the pension with respectful guests, or maybe the rooms had better insulation than most places, but it was really quiet. The beds were old but comfortable and the hosts were very helpful. Breakfast and dinner were good, too!

Beautiful Onsen , amazing Japanese breakfast ( which they make small changes to each day of you stay longer ). Great hosts , loads of interesting objects and art. They also have some local products for sale. Its super quiet space , very relaxing. One of my favourite spots ive stayed in japan . Theres also a handful of good restaurants within minutes - walking .

This is an amazing guesthouse, I highly recommend you to have your breakfast and dinner booked at the lodge, it's delicious and made with love (with good quantity!). You really feel like home and the hosts/owners are helpful, kind and lovely with everyone. I had the best sleep in months there ! Also, they always worries about our comfort and well being, really want to visit them every time I come back to Japan now. Extra : I love pets and there's a young cat at the house, as 2 cute dogs, so that was a perfect place for me !

Cosy and homely feel, just what we were looking for to unwind for a few days. Justin and Kaori are very sincere hosts and sensitive to guests' needs. Good sized rooms with ample heating and super comfortable beds. Meal were delicious and something to look forward to every day. Good and quiet location, in the woods slightly away from the village but still very accessible. Juno & Tito were an extra bonus ;-)

Very authentic Japanese experience in a quiet area away from the ski fields. Only 5 minute bus trip to ski fields. Hosts could not have been more hospitable. Enjoyed daily Onsen experience. Good value for money.

We loved the family feel of the property! Miyu and Kimmi were great hosts. Always driving us to the slopes and able to assist in recommending onsens and restaurants and booking them too. The breakfast was fresh and tasty daily. Their ski knowledge was exceptional and gave great advice depending on conditions. We can highly recommend this property. We got a great taste of Japanese family life, they were so inclusive of our family of five. Akakura Onsen and Kanko were gorgeous family run resorts.
