Beautiful vibes with owners Kimi and Miyu, with their lovely daughters running amok and bringing cheer everywhere! Rooms were great. Breakfast was just right, decent variety and plentiful, perfect for fuelling before a day out. Really wonderful memories of Japow house, especially while winding down in the evenings with other guests, amidst the open and homely vibe.
One thing to note for rental cars - make sure you get a 4wd, else when the snow picks up, you have to park at the post office carpark some ways out nearer the main town strip.

The elderly couple were like our parents away from home! They were more than obliging to help with anything and made some delicious food. They always felt approachable at any time of day - always friendly and very helpful in every conversation.

Location was amazing. Carlo, Sammy, Connor and the rest of the staff were amazing. It was like staying with friends. Great little bar for relaxing after a day on the slopes. Breakfast was great and served early to allow us to get an early start. Carlo and others couldn't help enough and Carlo helped other guests carry luggage down to the bus in a blizzard just because he's that kind of host. Thanks!

It’s so cosy and the landlady is so sweet. They offer free lifts to most resorts close by ( tho you need to make your way back yourself with the regional shuttles). They also have lots of discount deals on local lifts and equipment rental. Continuous Japanese tea supply in the kitchen too! :)

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Love this place , older style japanese inn. So many cool features . Lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Beautiful Onsen , amazing Japanese breakfast ( which they make small changes to each day of you stay longer ). Great hosts , loads of interesting objects and art. They also have some local products for sale. Its super quiet space , very relaxing. One of my favourite spots ive stayed in japan . Theres also a handful of good restaurants within minutes -
walking .
Sasa, the host, was very friendly and accommodating.
The room was clean and quiet, and western-style beds were very comfortable.
The paid breakfast was all-encompassing and well-prepared.
Amenities were clean and well-maintained.
There was adequate Ski storage.
We had an amazing stay at björk! The hosts were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The food was delicious, the room was comfy, and the decoration was charming. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Myoko!
This is an amazing guesthouse, I highly recommend you to have your breakfast and dinner booked at the lodge, it's delicious and made with love (with good quantity!). You really feel like home and the hosts/owners are helpful, kind and lovely with everyone. I had the best sleep in months there ! Also, they always worries about our comfort and well being, really want to visit them every time I come back to Japan now. Extra : I love pets and there's a young cat at the house, as 2 cute dogs, so that was a perfect place for me !
Cosy and homely feel, just what we were looking for to unwind for a few days.
Justin and Kaori are very sincere hosts and sensitive to guests' needs.
Good sized rooms with ample heating and super comfortable beds.
Meal were delicious and something to look forward to every day.
Good and quiet location, in the woods slightly away from the village but still very accessible.
Juno & Tito were an extra bonus ;-)
Great location, hosts are extremely friendly and accomodating, and the additional service of being driven to anywhere you need to go made the property a fantastic choice for those wanting to ski or snowboard Myoko.
Very authentic Japanese experience in a quiet area away from the ski fields. Only 5 minute bus trip to ski fields. Hosts could not have been more hospitable. Enjoyed daily Onsen experience. Good value for money.
We loved the family feel of the property! Miyu and Kimmi were great hosts. Always driving us to the slopes and able to assist in recommending onsens and restaurants and booking them too. The breakfast was fresh and tasty daily. Their ski knowledge was exceptional and gave great advice depending on conditions. We can highly recommend this property. We got a great taste of Japanese family life, they were so inclusive of our family of five. Akakura Onsen and Kanko were gorgeous family run resorts.
Fantastic stay with a amazing host where nothing is too much trouble. A great location in town also. Would definitely return again. Can highly recommend.
