The hotelier was very hospitable and lent me a bicycle for my stay at no charge. He also helped me reserve busses for my next stop. The rooms, kitchen and bathrooms were very clean.

It was exactly as advertised and enjoyed that it was in a quiet local neighborhood. There was an amazing breakfast place close by with the souffle pancakes, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce served with a side salad only open from 8 -10 and what they made was cooked to perfection. I will dream about that breakfast!

The owners renovated a 110 + year old machiya (traditional Japanese House) and it is amazing. The attention to detail and the decor were carefully curated and beautiful. The bed was on the tatami mats and was extremely comfortable. The host was so helpful with recommendations and how to get around.
I cannot say enough good about this place and the host.

We had a great time staying at this historic place right in the center of Kanazawa's Higashi Chaya District. The owner and hosts are super friendly and helpful, speak English, and provide a number of great recommendations for restaurants in the area.
The traditional Japanese style room is truly special.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Very lovely guest house with a great host. Pleasant change to the usual choice of more or less soulless hotels if you want something more unique. I visited for a couple of days to see Kanazawa. Would definitely choose this accommodation again. Medium-duration walk to the city centre.
The guesthouse has been beautifully restored, maintaining the period features, but including all the modern comforts. Great location, lovely host, beautiful garden. We will return again.
Very quiet and intimate, traditional boutique stay. Wonderful and helpful host! Terrific local location. Washing machine in the room with an amazing drying room!
lovely place, the tatami was comfortable and the room very spacious (expecially for japanese standards). our hosts were very cute. great location if you want to immerge yourself in the old district of Kanazawa, but keep in mind that the town centre is 15 min away across the river. location is great thought, very beautiful and quiet
Beautiful and quaint traditional style guesthouse. come here for a proper traditional Japanese stay experience. The host was lovely and they have created a traditional feel with modern renovations and comforts like air conditioning and bathroom facilities. Out of the busier downtown area but walkable (20-30 mins) or by bus.
