Beautiful property with very large and nicely renovated rooms. Located right in the middle of the historic district, and the view of the mountains from the room is a phenomenal touch. Shogo was very friendly and helpful, and was quick to provide recommendations for places to visit nearby. Easily one of my favorite stays in Japan!!

We appreciated the history of the house and the amazing food! Additionally, the hosts were extremely accommodating, providing a ride to places you wouldn’t get to see through the public transit and even providing a ride to the house when we failed to get there ourselves. We were also provided a tour of some of the highlights of the town and surroundings, as well as fireworks for the night.

This was a really lovely place to stay. It is an easy 10-15 minute walk from the main bus stop in town and near a convenience store. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, I got some good tips for day hikes. The breakfast was delicious and filling. There is a nice common area where you can chat with fellow guests or make a tea. I am very happy I chose to stay here.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
