Mr Moriyo and his partner were amazing hosts. They were super kind to provide us with a temple ticket for free and had given good attention to the details including having our tea ready for the check-in and through out our stay. Breakfast was exceptionally good! They helped us make reservations and gave the attention needed when I was desperately in need of their help.

We loved the simplicity and traditional experience of staying there. Also the location was exceptional being across from the temple and 2 blocks from the affiliated gardens. The people are kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

Mama and Papa were great. They really made it feel homey and safe and they created a really welcoming environment. I ended up making friends with all the people staying there because Mama and Papa invited everyone to drink some homemade chai Papa made.

The place was very well organized based on guest needs. They communicated the check in details very carefully that even when we arrived very late, we didn't have any issue getting into to our room. The place was also very clean.

Tommy was the best host ever. He was always attentive for anything we needed and always available for helping or even chatting with us, he was such a good host. We took a double room with bunk beds and it was fine, normal size for Japan, very close to the Nijo station.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
