Wonderful and peaceful place to stay just outside Akureyri. It is truly steps away from the waterfront. The property is huge and let our group of 4 spread out. The bathroom is wonderful, with perhaps the strongest shower I’ve ever seen! Highly recommend staying if you are in the area.

The house is very cozy and had everything we needed to spend a night and cook a meal. We enjoyed having a grill right on the porch.

Quiet, well set up with useful kitchen. Great communication - we were emailed with room and code details in good time. Great base for hikes around the island, to return for a comfortable evening. Caught the ferry across both ways.

location was wonderful, it's nice the cabins are separated from each other and from the main lodging. back porch with bbq, and we cooked most of our meals onsite. convenient to town, but in a small community. we would come back and would recommend this to others. watching and photographing the northern lights from the porch was great!
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Lovely view from the dining room windows. The kitchen was very well-appointed, and we could have cooked a proper meal if we had wished. The host was very chatty and gave us lots of information about the area, and Iceland in general. Great breakfast with some local food on offer. We appreciated being able to organise an early breakfast which meant we could get to our whale watching trip in Husavik on time.
There was a supermarket and bar/cafe within a two minute walk so self-catering was easy.
Our best stay in Iceland. The place is gorgeous, both location, directly on the fjord, and the guesthouse itself.
The shared kitchen/ dining room is comfortable and welcoming, with large windows overlooking the sea. The rooms are clean and nice, with good breakfast.
Above all Inoglfur's great hospitality, and the knowledge and conversations, which gives you insight about Iceland.
Jökull was a great host, extremly kind and responsive. Gorgeous and fully equipped house in beautiful Grenivík. The house is excellent for couples, friends or families travelling with kids. Grenivík is beautiful and a perfect spot to visit the north of Iceland as you are less than an hour away from Akureyri, Húsavík, Hauganes and Myvatn. By the way there is a beautiful swimming pool in town with lovely views of the fjords. Would definitely stay again!!
The host is amazing, very kind and knowledgable. The rooms are comfortable, breakfast is good and the hottub has an amazing view (as does the communal area). It is a very small guesthouse with only four rooms so it will never feel busy. The kitchen is great and fully equipes as well. We had the best stay here!
Very cozy and charming guest house directly at the Fjord. Very fiendly and helpful owner. Ideal location to explore the surrounding area (Parking directly at the guest house). All very clean and well maintained.
Everything was lovely. Quiet location and amazing host. Ingrid was so nice with us, warm reception, and we would stay longer for a good conversation! The breakfast is superb, in Icelandic style :)
Ingólfur is the great host. We arrived late but still we were able to use jacuzzi with a fabulous view on the lake. Also he helped us to organize a nice boat trip to watch whales. Very nice and comfy dinning room with very good kitchen. Tasty breakfast. It was also one of the most beautiful places where we have stayed on our exploration trip across whole Iceland. It was also the most expensive accommodation we had in Iceland (and we had 10 of them) but for sure it was worth to pay extra.
Everything: Grenivik Guesthouse is a wonderful place just in front of a beautiful bay. Ingo was a perfect host. He waited for us until late for the check in and also offered us dinner. We could use the tub and also the mini bar, for a delicious local beer. Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was perfect, with home made pastry and local berries with skyr.
We had an amazing time at Grenivik Guesthouse. we asked for a late check in, and it was granted immediately. Upon arrival, we could still use the jacuzzi with the view to the mountains. The next day, the breakfast was with local products and plenty of information with the host :) The night of sleep was great, highly recommend!
Great host. Great hottub. Great breakfast. Great area. Great room, very clean. Great everything :)
