The location, for us, couldn't have been better. You could see Hallgrimskirkja cathedral from our rooms. There are restaurants and even a little grocery store in less than a 5 min walk. The section of the Rainbow Road is less than 10 minutes away.
The staff was kind and helpful. Good breakfast options. The entire guesthouse was very clean and well maintained. Having parking on the property was huge. We would definitely stay here again on future visits to Reykjavik.

The host was friendly and inviting. My little garden house was remarkable—serene, spotless, and enchanting. Meadow stole my heart. I will be back. Thank you!

I'm so glad I booked this accommodation for my short stay in Iceland's capital. Centrally located, was easy to return for a quick break from all parts of central Reykjavík. Everything you may need (pubs, restaurants, shops, meeting point for tours) were in walking distance (max. 10 minutes). The host was super kind, check-in/check out could not have been easier. During my stay, I shared the house with other younger travellers. I liked my selected room, it was equipped with basically everything you may need, and so was the kitchen for making your own dishes/tea/coffee. I can fully recommend to book your accommodation at Grettir.

The place was very quiet and cute decorated, You have fully equipped and cozy kitchen. You can have some coffee, tea, cereal, etc. Every room has different name on the door, with very cute keys by the way. The staff is very kind and can help you whenever you need. They invited us to a complimentary breakfast in the main property Blue House B&B - Icelandic pancakes and coffee. They also inform you if the sky is clear, and where you can catch the Aurora - next to the property 2min up the hill or on Grotta lighthouse 25 min walking. RECOMMEND
Iceland is amazing. 🇮🇸❤️

Great location. The staff were very accommodating and communicated well. The place is awesome.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Fantastic host and breakfast (enough for later in the day). Great location to get on the road to see the sights or taxi into Reykjavik. Saw the Northern Lights from the picturesque backyard.
We decided to stay a couple extra nights in Iceland to rest up before traveling home and booked Hlid Fisherman’s village because it is secluded and quiet. It was obviously a labor of love for someone, and it shows. It is a really quaint setup and very private, but we were close enough to drive to restaurants and shopping.
Studio Apartment at Guesthouse Eyvindarholt, 225 Álftanes, near Reykjavik – in the foreground it looks towards the attractive Bessastadir, State Government Office where the President lives, Reykjavik is in the distance (20 minutes by car). The apartment is very well equipped and only missing 3 of my 16 criteria – a desk with a suitable chair and a freezer section in the fridge. Breakfast is included and consists of orange juice, yogurt, egg, fresh bread and jam, cheeses, cold meats, apple or other fruit, a slice of cake. A delightful host.
Isolated place with a nice view on the sea, charming old style village
A car is needed (though there is a bus stop not too far), it is far from any shop or other activity than enjoying quietness, nature and jacuzzi
A great host, great location, great accommodation and facilities! Hot tub would be the only possible improvement but without doubt will return.
Amazing breakfast all made freshly with fantastic choice.
Wonderful stay in a great location, comfortable room and bedding. Staff was friendly and helpful, hot tub a great addition after a long day. Perfect for northern lights viewing, due to location in a quieter area yet still well connected with Reykjavik.
What a gorgeous guesthouse! Everything was so clean and the host was so so friendly and welcoming. All of the little touches of decor really made the studio apartment welcoming and a great comfort after Afew days of hiking and being constantly on the go. The host even cooked us a beautiful breakfast each morning and delivered it to our door. Would highly recommend for those wanting to do abit around Reykjavik or flying out from Keflavik.
