Rosemary and Lawrence made us feel like we were a part of their family. It was a beautiful and comfortable home. We had a super clean living space and bathroom. In short, we had warmth and kindness coupled with grand accomodations and privacy.

It was a nice hotel. The manager met us at the door and had free supplies, which was quite a nice touch. It was a somewhat large room, but not a lot of spots to put our stuff.
Located on the N71 Muckross Road, the family-run Abbey Lodge is within a 3-minute walk of Killarney town center, which offers shopping, restaurants, bars, and rail/bus transfers.

The hotel location is great. It is in the heart of the town but slightly removed from the noisier areas. There is also a large parking area just behind the hotel that is free overnight. The room was accommodating and reasonably good sized. The pub has good food and live music later in the evening. We could not hear any noise from the pub in our room. It is a nice option if you don't want a large hotel and still want to stay close to all the restaurants and pubs.

Convenient to Kilarney city center and national parks. Quiet. Hosts baked brown bread for us, which was so sweet and unexpected. They also recommended a hiking trail in the national park that was away from the more congested tourist areas.

Joan is a great host! She takes care of you and is ready to advice about activities around. The guesthouse is close to Killarney and it's a good base point to drive into mountains. There is a great kitchen fully equipped. And the breakfast is outstanding - you can stay with continental or go more into Irish one :)
Monica is a great host, super friendly and supportive in all ways you can imagine. The room was perfect and the shower even better. We loved the place and can recommend it totally. While you are there you should go to an Indian restaurant which is called Usmania, really good food for a cheap price.
