Ty Helyg Guest House, hotel in Talgarth

Ty Helyg Guest House is located in Brecon. Free WiFi access is available and the Brecon Beacons National Park is less than 10 minutes' walk away.

Everything very clean and well presented. I had the small double which suited me as a solo traveller. It had its own ensuite shower. All scrupulously clean. Only slight drawback was that it was up 2 flights of rather steep stairs.. but there was a fridge on the landing for milk for tea and coffee which helped. There was street parking outside initially and then once I had deposited my suitcase etc I was given a parking permit and took the car round to the Theatre car park. Plenty of room there. Walk back took about 4 minutes. Breakfast was excellent..proper poached eggs! And gluten free toast. All very nice. Would stay again if travelling this way.

Baskerville House, hotel in Talgarth

Baskerville House offers accommodations in Clyro, 30 miles from Elan Valley and 3.8 miles from Clifford Castle.

Beds are very comfortable and rooms are well equipped with tea/coffee, towels and cookies (very tasty!) Breakfast was very nice, well cooked and prepared for us. Additional homemade jams and granola are also lovely. Plenty of room in the bedroom for both of us to get ready for a wedding we were attending. The shower was great and the bathroom was very clean.

The Wellington, hotel in Talgarth

One of the oldest buildings in Brecon, The Wellington's beautiful Georgian façade stands looks over the town square and the monument of the Duke of Wellington.

A really nice atmosphere in a historic old building, and the staff went out of their way to make my stay pleasant. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The location on the high street is very convenient to all that Brecon has to offer.

Tegfan Garden Suite, hotel in Talgarth

Boasting views of the garden and the Black Mountains, Tegfan Garden Suite is now self-catering and located in Talgarth, midway between Hay-on-Wye and Brecon and ideal for exploring in and around the...

Oh, what a treat our stay at Tegfan Garden Suite was! Not only was the cottage tastefully designed with a wonderfully outfitted kitchen but our hosts Helen and John were exceptional as well. We arrived for our three night stay without any agenda. Helen gave us two well thought out days of activities with excellent dining suggestions as well. We didn't have to plan a thing. The welsh products provided were delicious, delightfully including the products made by Helen. Breakfast from the provisions was a treat. We were lucky enough to be there during lambing season. My husband loves lamb and bought some chops from the local butcher (who has a very nice selections of cheese, pies, olive oils, etc. in addition to meat). John arranged for us to use a fire pit including logs to linger outside after we barbecued the chops. It was lovely. I can't imagine there would have been anywhere nicer to stay and enjoy the Brecon Beacons area.

The Firs at Hay-on-Wye B&B, hotel in Talgarth

The Firs at Hay-on-Wye B&B offers accommodations in Hay-on-Wye, 2.6 miles from Clifford Castle and 8.4 miles from Kinnersley Castle.

When we first got there, I was very surprised. It's basically a residence, and they let out rooms, not like other B&Bs I've been to. But the owners are so lovely and welcoming, and really wanted us to be comfortable. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean, and the town is wonderful. Would 100% stay there again.

Great location in heart of the village yet very quiet - the little garden area was a great oasis. Every detail in the house seemed to have been carefully considered, making the stay very memorable. Martyn and Jo were excellent and friendly hosts. A beautiful part of the country at the foot of the fine northern slopes of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.
