The rooms and common areas were extremely clean, the hosts were extremely friendly, room noise was quiet/non existent and provided everything we could have wanted. The breakfast was very good too.

Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds were really comfortable and the breakfasts well cooked and generous. Our hostess Fiona was really friendly and helpful, especially in accommodating all the last minute changes we had to make.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Great little guest house close to centre, shops, bars and restaurants. Lovely welcome from the hosts, clean and comfortable rooms, great breakfast! We were in a top floor twin room in the eaves might be a problem for some with the low roof and stairs, perfectly adequate for our overnight stay. Our friend's room had a private external bathroom, remember to bring a dressing gown or pyjamas 😉 would stay again, quiet despite being on the roadside.
Alison was a great host and was very welcoming. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was good and there was lots of it. Great location for the centre of Penrith. Parking was a bonus.
From start to finish, everything was so well organised, I was fully informed of everything and the few days' stay ran smoothly. There was parking, the place was clean and had everything I needed; the whole place was quaint and such a delight. The hosts put a lot of effort into making sure everything was right including decorating it for Christmas, and organising a couple of little treats. Good location, very quiet and calm, yet handy for Penrith and the M6.
A great location, clean and tidy with everything you needed for a great stay. The caravan was in a very quiet spot with no nearby road noise.
Carol our host was an excellent communicator and couldn't do enough for you.
Alison is a great host; warm, welcoming and very helpful. The room was warm and clean, the bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night.
There were a number of breakfast options, and the food was of a good quality and well cooked.
The location is excellent, with a private parking area at the rear of the property. I could walk into the town centre in a few minutes and it was ideally suited to visit Potfest.
The accommodation is very good value for the prices, and No 3 will be my first choice on future visits to Penrith.
Widewath Barn is a lovely spacious cottage with a well equipped kitchen. It is in a very quiet but convenient location. All the places we visited were no more than 20 minutes drive away. Alice and George were great hosts.
Great location and fabulous decor, the guesthouse has been furnished to a really high standard! Tracey and Sean were excellent hosts, they were very attentive and did everything to make our stay the as enjoyable as possible. The rain shower was lovely and breakfast was good with fresh fruit each day!
