It had everything we needed. We stayed while it had been really cold and the host had lit the fire for us so it was warm when we got there. Also got water bottles were available for us too and we made it cosy.
Good communication with host before during and after stay. Very responsive.

Tony and Natali were perfect hosts during our 2 night stay, including very helpful restaurant recommendations. We hadn’t initially booked breakfasts, but were glad we changed our mind on arrival … superb! Couldn’t fault the accommodation either, and we’d definitely stay there again if we’re back in Ballater.

Great location, great breakfast, free parking, and a really clean room. Pool table available for guests. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The hosts, Joyce and Garry (with his marigold gloves wave) were friendly and welcoming.
Great breakfast 😋. Great location.
Beautiful room and comfy bed.
The private bothy was such a unique and cozy place to stay. It was extremely quiet and private, and not difficult to get to at all. The bothy in general was about as clean as a place could possibly be, and it is obviously a very loved place. Furthermore, the recommendations of things to do by the hosts were spot on and really made the stay special. I would absolutely stay here again.
Everything. The house is wonderful, in a perfect location for attractions in the area.
The place is quiet (with the river in the background), cosy and extremely well looked after.
The hosts, Joyce and Garry are very kind and careful for every need.
The food is of the highest quality from breakfast to dinner
Highly recommended and we can't wait to go back!
The house was lovely historic with spacious beautifully decorated rooms; the location was perfect and ideallic, being very quiet and overlooking the river. The hosts were lovely, friendly and provided a level of hospitality that I've not experienced for a long time. I am very much looking forward to going back! Oh yes, and the breakfast with locally sourced ingredients was wonderful.
The welcome. The overall accommodation, especially the chandeliers, the table silver wear, the decor, drinks in room, the quality of breakfasts and platters, the jams and marmalades and the very attentive and charming hosts.
