Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The apartment was clean and with everything a family needs. The location is peaceful, surrounded by nature and a pleasant walk to the beach. Communication with the host ran smooth whenever we needed anything.
Great location at the lake!
Good food. I would recommend a la carte over buffet. BBQ on some days is nice but not worth the higher price over the buffet.
Very cozy and homey for a hostel. There is a common kitchen (with free coffee!), a common dining area, even a sauna and a sun-deck. Showers are private.
Enough space in the lockers, privacy in the bed with handy light-protective shades to keep the sun and your roommates' eyes away when you sleep.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, I could even wash my clothes upon request.
We stayed in mid-September and pretty much had the whole hostel at our disposal :D
We really enjoyed how cozy the beds were, the quietness of the place, as well as the nice common area, which had a big TV and a kitchen with all you'd need to cook there.
Everything was clean and in good condition. Also, the hostel is perfectly located, nearby the rapids of Imatra, and with a pretty good Chinese restaurant on the ground floor of the building.
Great place, definitely worth the money!
Needed to clarify several items before my stay (check in, check out, payment). Satu, the lady I communicated with upfront, was very friendly and willing to help and always replied quickly. Top staff! Hostel at awesome location, cozy community room, quiet. Bathroom perfectly clean; rudimentary, combined shower and WC. But that's what I expect going to a hostel. I even had a one bed room for myself for standard price. 10 points and well deserved!
