Being away from tourist areas in Aswan was what we wanted. The guesthouse was on the West Bank of the Nile in a peaceful, bucolic setting (farming area, cows, goats, camels, donkeys). The room (107) we had was in the new wing so good shower, AC, etc. and the ceiling built in the Nubean style. At dawn, as the sun hits, the ceiling is illuminated like the night sky. Although far away, the busy Aswan world is only a short(and free) on-demand boat ride away. So we had access to restaurants across the way. Tomb of the Nobles is walkable, but I think the guesthouse would have taken us by boat if I asked. The facilities themselves reminded me of a beach resort in the Philippines, with views to die for and easy access to the Nile. Tables and chairs scattered about for breakfast and soft drinks. Sometimes they might have other meals available but check in the morning.
The best part of the experience is the staff who were friendly and welcoming: Hossam, Sayid, and the two older boys named Mohammed. Of note: we picked up virus before coming to Aswan, and started showing symptoms there. Hossam personally escorted us to the “tourist” hospital Al-germaniya and stayed for three hours with us so he could accompany us back to guesthouse. We would not have managed the bureaucratic process without him. When we gave him bakhshish/tip, he absolutely refused it.
Owner Taha had arranged for taxi to airport($15), which was not a bad price. Although you can only speak with Taha over the phone, don’t hesitate to ask Hossam to speak to him if you need anything. If you’re coming into Aswan late in the day, ask to be picked up from airport because the place is not easy to find.

This is by far the place where I felt the biggest hospitality from the hosts in my stay in Egypt. We arrived late at night and they waited for us at the ferry. It's around 5 min walk from there.
We had a nice view to the Nile river and the bed was good to have some rest after a long trip

It wasn't just guesthouse. I felt like I was in my home. Guesthouse host is super kind and supportive. He would like to do everything that guest wants and needs. It isn't a thousand dollar fancy hotel, but if you are looking for a place where you want to feel comfortable like home, don't hesitate to stay here. (Certainly, location and facilities are fine.)
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
The owner is a friendly Nubian who enjoy hosting guests. This guest house is the only one that faces north, and we had a panoramic view of the old Aswan dam. As the house is quiet near the ferry, you can hire a boat directly from the owner. He will drive you to the ticket office first and then to the temple.
Super welcoming host. Authentic place with special attention to details. Saddam is amazing guy who always do the best for his guests. It was pleasure to be invited for egyptian dinner, enjoy the morning coffee with great choice of books in your lovely garden. Highly recommend for everyone who wants to explore real Nubian atmosphere.
Wonderful small guest house, beautifully decorated in Nubian style. Clean, comfortable rooms for our family and our host Abdo was so welcoming. A superb, filling diverse breakfast. Would love to come back when the roof patio is complete for the lovely river view.
Amazing place and great hosts! Aya was great at communication and organized our trips to Abu Simbel and so on.. They even upgraded our room to Nile view and were always happy to help with a smiling face!
Tamer was so kind and friendly and went out of way to help us. We are a family of 4 and all vegetarians, The food at the restaurant was simply amazing! We ended up staying 1 extra night! Cannot recommend enough!
Seyid and his family were the most polite hosts ever. He treats you like family. He organised everything we were asking for for excellent price. Not trying to trick you or anything. The first night he invited us even for dinner. Everything is well prepared with a lot of love and you feel it. It's located in a very quiet area next to the Nile and it feels like a picture when you look outside. Price/value is outstanding.
Every detail is done with love in the place. Sied was a kind and great host, who took us for a nice boat ride to Philae temple and managed my transfer to the airport. Nefisa was very caring and cooked great dinner. I had a lovely and memorable time at Wanas Kato!
Amazing accomodation with a wonderful host Sied, great food, beautiful views, great air con as it was 42 degrees and Sied went above and beyond to create a special sunset feluca ride and adventure to Philae Temple. Loved the guesthouse and highly recommend as a home base if you plan to visit Abu Simbel too.
