The staff are very helpful and courteous, especially the front desk person. The breakfast was great, and the server was very solicitous. I had to do laundry, and I was allowed to use the laundry facility. The room is modern and clean. The Alpinia is in a residential neighborhood and very quiet. Near grocery store and train station. Excellent position for anyone who wants to discover Berlin.
About the room: clean, good beds (hard mattress but good for your healthy sleep), comfy pillows, spacious bathroom with shower, well equiped. We had a bottle refrigerator, not cold enough for keeping food for - let's say - a breakfast.
The premises: anything you want on an array of 500 m, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery store, and so on. Excellent schnitzel at Sissi, perfect pasta and pizza at Pizza Verdura, search on Google for any food you like, it's there within a short walk.
On Wednesday and Saturday there is a very nice market right in front of the hotel, give it a try, you might find something nice to buy.
The transportation: close to Nollendorf U-bahn station that takes you everywhere you want to visit. You can also take a Hop on hop off Tour if you don't like to walk much.
The owner was very friendly and happy to help us with anything.
We definitely recommend staying here.

I really like this place. I know people complained by the noise, but having a private room is so nice, and for the price, this is even cheaper than a hostel room with 8 beds. The internet was good, and there was a small game room/coworking area were I took my online meetings. This place is good just to stay a night, and then take a flight home.
This is a beautiful hotel with a fantastic location for the air port and public transportation to city center (45- 50 min-but direct). It is so quiet despite being almost right at the airport.

Hotel has a great location at the airport. We stayed overnight so we could catch an early flight the next morning. Restaurant is nice, staff friendly. Check-in was fast. Room well set up and clean. Room was very quiet, even though close to the airport.
The pension reminded me a bit of barracks or a Boys Scout dorm, and I mean this in a good way: safe, clean, quiet, removed from the bustle of big-city life. Shared bathrooms kept very clean. S-Bahn station conveniently nearby. No breakfast in the pension, but with a little planning it’s not a problem. And much cheaper than central hotels. I really enjoyed my five days there.
Pension Schwalbenweg is a cheap option close to the airport. It's perfect if you arrive late or your flight is early in the morning. The accomodation is very basic, it has youth hostel vibes. It works for me, I only stayed there for a few hours, to get some sleep before continuing my travel.
