The staff are very helpful and courteous, especially the front desk person. The breakfast was great, and the server was very solicitous. I had to do laundry, and I was allowed to use the laundry facility. The room is modern and clean. The Alpinia is in a residential neighborhood and very quiet. Near grocery store and train station. Excellent position for anyone who wants to discover Berlin.
About the room: clean, good beds (hard mattress but good for your healthy sleep), comfy pillows, spacious bathroom with shower, well equiped. We had a bottle refrigerator, not cold enough for keeping food for - let's say - a breakfast.
The premises: anything you want on an array of 500 m, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery store, and so on. Excellent schnitzel at Sissi, perfect pasta and pizza at Pizza Verdura, search on Google for any food you like, it's there within a short walk.
On Wednesday and Saturday there is a very nice market right in front of the hotel, give it a try, you might find something nice to buy.
The transportation: close to Nollendorf U-bahn station that takes you everywhere you want to visit. You can also take a Hop on hop off Tour if you don't like to walk much.
The owner was very friendly and happy to help us with anything.
We definitely recommend staying here.

The staff were exceptionally kind and very helpful. The koi pond in the central garden is quite beautiful, and my son really enjoyed watching the fish swim. The breakfast was delicious as well. Staying here provided a very nice, relaxing setting away from the city landscape but was still conveniently located to most popular landmarks in Berlin. If given the opportunity to return to Berlin, I would definitely stay at Hotel Blumenbach again.

The room was basic but had everything I required. There's a delicious Thai restaurant in the same building and many other dining choices nearby, including a large grocery store. This neighborhood is outside of the historical part of Berlin but there are busses and the S Bahn close by and it is quiet and felt very safe. Getting in was easy as well. Served my purpose...it was clean and the manager was very friendly.

Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
We shared a private double room and upgraded to with a bathroom as it was offered for much cheaper. The hostel was a great vibe, breakfast was cheap and a very good variety, they allowed you to rent towels which is good for travellers. The beds were two twins beds which isn't ideal for a couple. Overall a great hostel and nice stay in Berlin
A very unique, quirky and comfortable apartment with really good facilities. Loved that there was a cute balcony and everything we needed for our stay was provided, including a great sound system! There is a tram stop just across the street which takes you into the city centre, with one change (total journey takes approx 15 mins). Cafes, shops, a supermarket etc all nearby. Would definitely go back there again - loved it! Great host too.
Great location (central) for my needs and for an ok price. The host (it’s his home) was very responsive, respectful and friendly. Room was very clean, kitchen was clean, bathroom could be cleaner according to my standards (it’s somebody’s home and is used, so it’s not clean like a proper guesthouse/hotel).
Great location, spacious room, separate toilet and bathroom. Clean. Never had any issues with noise but I can imagine it could get noisy as it is large building with hundreds of rooms. Hostel side is popular with young people so if you are looking for a quiet place to stay probably it’s not the best choice.
The apartment is in a quiet neighbourhood but still close to the city centre. It was very clean and the perfect size for a week of exploring Berlin. The host is also super nice.
