Great location next to activities, restautants, and the beach. Nice rooftop from which we saw monkeys and birds. Room was clean, shower comfortable, a/c felt really nice.

The hosts, Oscar and Karen, were superbly welcoming and friendly. Our favourite stay in all of Costa Rica! Quiet clean rooms with comfortable beds, individual A/C in our room, private bathroom and good shower. Safe and private. Well-equipped kitchen and a delightful covered patio to relax. We spotted a variety of birds, iguana, and a far off monkey from there. Easy walk to stores, restaurants, the boat dock, and the Tortuguero National Park. Oscar has his on boat with a quiet trolling motor, and he gave us an early morning boat tour of the National Park canals. He’s wonderful guide at spotting wildlife- many birds, spider monkeys, caiman, lizards.

The apartment was on the second floor which allowed us a view to both the lagoon on the back and the ocean on the front. Both are a short walk. Linens were clean. Kitchen was supplied with pots and standard dishes. The home had a large clean shower with hot water. The most important feature was that each of the three bedrooms had an Air conditioner. The closest market store was a 15 min walk.

The staffs were exceptionally kind, especially Carmen was always being comminicative and helpful. Location is perfect, right in the middle of the street. Room condition is great, more values than its price.

The room was right on the beach and the sun rose out front. I felt safe walking around. The room was away from the main street of town and quite.

Absolutely loved this place. My first time in Tortuguero and it was so special. Arriving by taxi boat to the GuestHouse on the water was fun, and the views from the terrace were fantastic. The host was amazing - super friendly and happy to chat. There are only two rooms so feels very private. Took the night tour and morning Kayak tour which both left from the guesthouse - highly recommend doing both.
If your looking for luxury, then this may not be for you. But if your looking for location, character, beauty, great service, something different, peace and quiet, wildlife, charming owners, then this could well be for you. Owner a real character and does everything he can to look after you.

If you want somewhere authentic, in the local village with great hosts Gloria and Sergio, do not hesitate to book here. Very clean, quiet, ideally situated. We did the night walk/boat with Gloria and Sergio which was amazing, definitely worth doing. If you need a taxi boat or want to do a tour of the canals, go through Owen, their friend. The traditional breakfast was delicious.
The location is stunning. We saw toucans, macaws, sloths, the incredible Montezuma Oropendola nests hanging in the trees, it’s was truly incredible. Willis the owner was a great host and the kitchen out on a great breakfast and dinner.
I can’t speak highly enough of the grounds and how well kept it is. A true testament to them.
Stay for 2 nights at a minimum, the town is great but the tranquility of Rankins is unmatched.

Great location on the side of the football pitch, 2 minutes from the beach and 2 minutes from the dock. Welcoming and friendly, kids loved relaxing in the hammock and the hostel run canoe trip
