it was excellent. immaculately tidy, comfortable, a few blocks from the beach and the staff was amazingly efficient. and right across the street to a bus stop for santarem. unusually good. on Saturday night the bar a block down hosted a pretty good jazz concert.

Ricardo and his team were amazing hosts! They gave us lots of helpful tips on what to do every day (boat rides, restaurants, bars, bike rides, etc). They allowed us to do a late checkout at no extra charge which was really helpful due to our late flight back.
The breakfast is very good too. Rooms were very clean. The hotel location is also great, close to the downtown area where everything is located.

The rooms and the common kitchen are lovely - rustic and indigenous decorations, huge bed, cool bathroom design. Located in "downtown" Alter do Chao (which is a very small village) it was noisy at night on Friday and Saturday with live music, which we did not mind at all. Host is very helpful and nice. Highly recommended!
No breakfast, but in front of the hostel are fruit and snack stalls and two shops abit behind, its a 20 minute walk to town, seems to be quicker when it's dark.Theres a good walk down to the river, at the back, where you can hire a boat with owner for an hour or so.BZring your own toilet paper, it's set in a nice garden, it's rustic, there are hammocks.
Perfect hosts, beautiful guesthouse and nice breakfast! Fully recommendable! During our 3-nights stay we have felt like home thanks to the owners who are perfect in hosting with a very welcoming and helpful attitude. The place is nicely decorated with many plants and comfortable places to hangout. The room and bathroom are clean and fully functional. Also the breakfast is great with changing fruits, juices, marmalade and cake every day. The city center is only a short walk away.

Luana and her husband are the nicest hosts ever! Very helpful. The property is right near the beach and main square but yet they have a big garden and it is very quiet at night.
Great location next to the beach, staff very friendly and helpful (for tour reservation, ferry booking, recommendations…) and hostel really clean.

The hostel is in a quiet street, but still very close to everything. The people are super nice and very accomodating. Also, great breakfast included every morning!
