For those seeking relaxation, it's advisable to avoid hotels near the center due to the loud music and noises that disrupt sleep – making Villa Eden the perfect choice. This place is fantastic. If you go to Alter, stay here, it's clean, quiet, secure. Owners are fabulous and breakfast is interestingly delicious. Great TV and hammocks in the foyer. Highly recommended.
You may even get the wild monkeys outside the window in the forest that wake you for breakfast.

Definitely the best option of Alter. Room was extremely comfortable and clean. Good location, and people were super nice, both the owners and the breakfast staff including Baltazar. They shared tips and a little bit of the history of Alter's community, and they're very helpful when needed. A special thanks to the breakfast Chef who provided an outstanding experience.

The place is great! I had to work 6hs/day, and the 'office' within the room is perfect, cozy, and inspiring for working (with beautiful indigenous art). The location is perfect, with many shops around, and the people working there are extremelly kind. The kitchen was also really nice to be able to cook a bit for myself.

Hosts are just on the next door. Everything we needed was provided in a blink, even for thinks we didn't ask (we got sick and they provided us coconut water).
Fabiana and Gonçalves are very gentle and attentions people and did everything they could to make our stay as best as possible.
The rooms and the common kitchen are lovely - rustic and indigenous decorations, huge bed, cool bathroom design. Located in "downtown" Alter do Chao (which is a very small village) it was noisy at night on Friday and Saturday with live music, which we did not mind at all. Host is very helpful and nice. Highly recommended!
No breakfast, but in front of the hostel are fruit and snack stalls and two shops abit behind, its a 20 minute walk to town, seems to be quicker when it's dark.Theres a good walk down to the river, at the back, where you can hire a boat with owner for an hour or so.BZring your own toilet paper, it's set in a nice garden, it's rustic, there are hammocks.
Perfect hosts, beautiful guesthouse and nice breakfast! Fully recommendable! During our 3-nights stay we have felt like home thanks to the owners who are perfect in hosting with a very welcoming and helpful attitude. The place is nicely decorated with many plants and comfortable places to hangout. The room and bathroom are clean and fully functional. Also the breakfast is great with changing fruits, juices, marmalade and cake every day. The city center is only a short walk away.

Luana and her husband are the nicest hosts ever! Very helpful. The property is right near the beach and main square but yet they have a big garden and it is very quiet at night.
Great location next to the beach, staff very friendly and helpful (for tour reservation, ferry booking, recommendations…) and hostel really clean.
