The accommodation on the farm is equivalent to a very nice backpackers. The plumeria room had a mini fridge, coffee machine (with coffee and creamer), a microwave, a hair dryer, and a standing fan. The bathroom had soap/shampoo, conditioner and body lotion provided. I found a clothes iron in the cupboard. The location is quiet and tranquil, and it was well located for exploring the road to Hana and for driving to Haleakala. The staff was very friendly. You have access to a communal kitchen (think backpackers in terms of tidiness etc). There is a hot tub on a deck with a magnificent view. You also have access to a pool and sauna. And you can use the laundry facilities in the evening.

Pahoa
Boasting a sauna, Hawaiian Sanctuary Eco Retreat Center is set in Pahoa. This farm stay offers free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. Guests can use the spa and wellness centre with a sauna, hot tub, and wellness packages, as well as an outdoor swimming pool. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing here. You really feel like you’re sleeping in the rainforest, away from the rest of the world, able to disconnect and find peace. The staff were all very kind, all the guests seemed to know each other and were very friendly, and the food was delicious. I stayed with my son but I could see how this would be a great place for romantic partners to escape together. We stayed in one of the rooms in the lodge so it was a great price for a place to sleep and clean up before exploring the area.

Great location, easy to walk to the beach and marketplace for quick meals. Farmers market on Tue/Thur was a nice bonus! The property grounds are well maintained and beautiful. You can see the beach from the balcony of the room. The room was quiet, clean and stocked with kitchen basics. Overall the room could use a refresh, but this was ok for us because it was reasonably priced. It did feel tight for a family of four (kids age 9 and 12) after a week. Pool is average. Beautiful scenery around it. I also appreciated that parking was free.
The property is well maintained. Parking is easy. Employees are friendly and helpful. AC and fans work well and are necessary! 3 swimming pools in the property though one seemed to need more maintenance. Also there is an ice and water machine so that you can fill your water bottle before you leave. Right across the street from a small grocery store in a shopping center with restaurants and shops. There’s also a farmer’s market 2x/wk in the parking lot. 5 minute walk to the beach.
The hostess was very kind; when we showed up, she gave us a complimentary upgrade to the honeymoon suite, which was a separate cottage. The Belle Vue is on 4 acres of farm land, and I think it has the best view on the island. We couldn’t get over how beautiful it was! Additionally, there were lots of friendly geckos on the balcony, and beautiful birds as the bird feeders are kept well stocked. It was extremely quiet, the cottage itself was pretty, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable.
Felt like home. Farmhouse before it was a thing. Shared kitchen and living room were beautiful. Complimentary food was a nice touch, as was the fresh fruit you could pick from the trees. Robert was a great host!
It was comfortable and friendly. The room was quiet with a good bed and shower, just duenersyrs from the main living area. We enjoyed the kitchen and deck. Location is great, easy to find, close to beaches, farmers market, hot springs and yoga/dance opportunities.
The location and house set up was great. It was wonderful to be in close walking distance to the farmers' market, bakery and other offerings in downtown Hilo. We really appreciated the comfy beds, beach towels and snorkels too!
It was rustic, kinda like a 1940s motel and set in a rural setting. Got the feeling of family owned and local staff reflecting the natural conditions of the island.
Amazing view. We absolutely love the farm setting (we have fresh eggs and fruits from the farm every day!!!) and the friendly hosts (Randy is super helpful). It’s a short drive from Hilo. We also got a chance to meet other guests staying on the farm house. Our cottage is lovely and well lit and has a nice kitchenette and patio. Absolutely a gem!
We stayed at the Aeolian Ranch upon arrival to the big island. It was a great place to unwind from our trip, and had easy access to Kailua-Kona the next morning for breakfast and a farmers market.
