This is a really excellent place to stay if you like being surrounded by nature but only a few minutes drive to the city. You wake up to the sun rising, beautiful scenery and a few goats and deer! The cottage is very well set-up and has everything you could need, they even provide milk and eggs to get you started. There are also thoughtful touches like board games and dvds and suggestions of things to do in the area. The hosts, who live next door, are lovely and willing to help in any way. My kids loved feeding the animals. You need to have a car to get around.

Situated just 20 minutes' drive from central Dunedin city, Hunters Moon offers stunning views over the Taieri plain. Excellently maintained facility. Feels brand new, yet also comfy and cozy like you're visiting family. The host was very kind and welcoming. We got to feed the sheep and alpaca in the morning which was a very memorable part of our trip! I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who's looking for a high quality place to stay, away from the crouds and have a unique New Zealand experience! Oh I almost forgot - bathroom had great water pressure and a towel rack that actually heated up quickly enough to warm the towel I need for my shower!
