Ruahine

All units comprise a seating area with a sofa, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with various cooking facilities, including an oven, a toaster, a fridge and a stovetop. Kitchenware and kettle are also offered. At the farm stay, units are equipped with bed linen and towels.
Set in a beautiful, peaceful, rural location. No microwave or shower, but the oven with all the pots and pans, and the bath with ample hot water, did the job equally as well and more authentic. Had an interesting chat with Bunny, who has been there all his very interesting life and which has been captured in a very interesting book. Managed a few chapters but will return for 2 nights within 12 months to finish the rest. I also enjoyed chatting to James the farm manager, a very friendly and amiable person. Good, honest country folk. The time there was one of those memorable experiences that I will always treasure.
Positioned away from any busy streets, you can be guaranteed a quiet stay. With a rural backdrop, we were greeted with abundance of birdcalls at dusk. But what was surprising were deer walking down the street early evening. Where else would you see that in suburbia? Bach offers a bit of a seventies retro feel with comfortable seating and all the facilities you may need with the bonus of a wood burner, and yes the bed is comfortable.

Great views whichever window you looked through.. .sea, farmland, "sheep". Quiet with rural feel, yet close to town. Best place I've stayed in Whanganui.

Nice rural farm stay in a big spacious accommodation not too far from the main city. Very welcoming & friendly host.
It's a great spot close to the city, yet a rural feeling. Perfect if you want a quieter spot away from the main urban area. At the end of a country road so very safe and not noisy despite a small airport being nearby. Very nice to have a few farm animals at a distance around the property. Lovely host Mike who was very present and helpful. Also a very reasonable price for the property & area, even lower than some inner city motels which are certainly not as nice. Fantastic bed! Super comfy, couldn't fault it.
Exceptional value for money. Room is huge, clean and comfortable. Hosts are welcoming and supplied little extras like eggs, bread and cereal. Pretty rural outlook with lots of farm animals. Lots of power points and a table suitable for work. Would happily stay again.
Thank you for your friendly, kind hospitality. We enjoyed being surrounded by the rural vibe with the farm animals. The location made it easy to access downtown, and the two-bedroom house we stayed at was nice and cozy. It was well-equipped, and we had the things we needed.
