For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
It was comfortable and friendly. The room was quiet with a good bed and shower, just duenersyrs from the main living area.
We enjoyed the kitchen and deck.
Location is great, easy to find, close to beaches, farmers market, hot springs and yoga/dance opportunities.
I loved the privacy, the view on the beautiful garden, the outdoor shower (!), the very comfortable bed and the neighborhood. This bungalow is close to hotponds, the red road with stunning overhanging trees, Uncle Robert's Saturday morning Farmers market & Wednesday evening music night. Too much to sum up actually. Abbie is a warm hearted host. She created a place where you naturally still your mind and enjoy the peace. A masseuse lives on the same property, so you can book a treatment right there :))
My girlfriend and I loved this eco-farm studio! We felt so relaxed and a part of nature, yet safe and secure from the elements. Even though we got in late, it was easy to check-in on our own and we loved the extra touches, including vegetables, eggs, and water from the farm. We made a great breakfast and had everything we needed.
Pahoa is at a walkable distance, I do strongly recommend hiring a car to go to the beach/volcano.
The sauna/hot tub area was really nice and readily available for use. The owner is very engaged in developping the property with organic farming and interested in feedback. A group of long-stay hippie style volunteers works and learns here. They all seemed content. Never heard so many birds at night, truly a phenomenon.
On some days there is a possibility to join extatic dance or soundbaths on the premise.
The host was welcoming and nice . The ambience was awesome . The host was kind enough to do walkthrough of their farm with the kids and kids enjoyed it.
The host showed a nice farm Papaya across the street from home.Dragon fruit. Pineapple.Banana. That was so cool. They even gave us bananas that we've never had before. It was very sweet. There's a filter for drinking water, a coffee machine, and a filter. There was even coffee beans, so I enjoyed Kona coffee at home.
