Quinta Terezinha is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a base to discover the island. The host Laura was so friendly and was really useful in providing information for the shops, restaurants and places to visit. The accommodation itself was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The farmhouse was lovely with comfy beds, a great shower and really clean. We didn't really make the most of the outdoor areas, but there are hammocks, a barbeque and sun loungers all with amazing views. As others have mentioned, you will likely become the owner of a couple of cats for your stay which we loved. On arrival, Laura had prepared a welcome hamper with some local exotic fruits, ground coffee and a bottle of Madeira Wine which was a lovely touch. If you run out or want any more fresh produce from the farm then the instructions are to just help yourself. What an amazing stay - just wish we could have stayed longer.

The Moinho is located in a beautiful valley with lots of nature around. It is a very relaxing environment, you don't hear anything except for the birds and the river.
Carlos is the best host you can imagine. He has lots of stories to tell, gives very useful hints, is always available for questions. And he makes a wonderful breakfast. The scrambled and fried eggs are made upon request. Every day he comes with another small surprise of local specialities.
The appartement is very cosy, on cooler days the wood stove makes it nice warm.
We totally felt at home.

Well equipped and convenient apartment with great views on the oceanfront. Preferable over stay at the village center, where the sound of breaking waves in stormy weather could obstruct sleep.
For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
The room had a rustic vibe and it was very clean. We also enjoyed having a balcony with a beautiful view of the more rural and hilly village. Breakfast was very good with regional and homemade products as well as lots of vegan alternatives. There is a "honesty bar" where you can buy these homemade products like the jams and then pay at check-out. On the last day we had to leave early so the night before they kindly brought us a take away picnic (water, fruits, sandwiches). Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
It was a well deserved self-pampering oasis. Location was spot on with great views. The whole area was impeccably well manered with great greens and farm-style animals. Pool and sauna was a blast after lots of hiking. Breakfast was also good. Great value for money!
The place is absolutely beautiful, even it is far from everything (you have to drive to get somewhere). It is like a rural area of small village so not many stuff around but the view in the morning from windows was just spectacular. Staff was helpful and really nice. The breakfast was good enough to get your day started. I really enjoyed the bed, I could sleep in there all day. if you like calm spot with a amazing view, this is your place.
This is a beautiful one year old renovated property with contemporary styling in a gorgeous valley overlooking the mountains and ocean. Excellent breakfast, perfect setting, lovely rooms, helpful staff, with a surprising kitchen garden free for harvesting by guests. The grounds show off the former quinta (farm) with vineyards and ancient winepress. The pool is pretty (though unheated off season).
Tranquil small farm that was very quite a night. The best parts were the outdoor common areas that were usually quite private and had a wonderful charm to them. We loved the onsite bar that would sometimes be open. Laundry room was helpful. Price is great.
If you look forward to have a taste of the rural side of Madeira do not hesitate to stay at the apartment of Mrs. Edoarda. She is an amazing host that made our stay on the northern shore of Madeira island absolutely unforgettable. Loads of fresh fruit every morning, a visit to one of the traditional parties of Madeira (arraial) and a very friendly and welcoming attitude. We really felt like being part of the family.

Really enjoyed our stay, Granny's farm is a beautiful place with well maintained surroundings. The place is clean and is equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Host was very friendly and available for questions.
