The is second time we rent one of theese 3 small houses.
Its like staying alone in a botancal garden. The view is stunning. The houses are charming. Bus no 29 have stop nearby and a we enjoyed the fragrance of the surronding ecualyptusforest while waiting for the bus to downtown. We returned in the evening with a 10euro Bolt taxi. It was using very steep narrow roads, as google map suggested....
We have stayed at numerous places on this island, but this is a clear winner.
We rent here next time too.
We prefer the two bedroom house, best view there.
Located in Camacha, in a historic building, 10 km from Marina do Funchal, Quinta da Moscadinha is a farm stay with an outdoor swimming pool and garden.

A beautiful house, sumptuous décor, and friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts, and the restaurant above the hotel was excellent. They also have two restaurants in Funchal, one of which we visited for NYE and it was very good too. (and gave us the guests' discount despite us already having left the hotel).
We particularly enjoyed the comfortable lounge with a raging log fire in the evenings.
Boasting mountain views, Casas de Pedra features accommodation with balcony, around 10 km from Marina do Funchal. With garden views, this accommodation provides a patio.

Quinta Terezinha is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a base to discover the island. The host Laura was so friendly and was really useful in providing information for the shops, restaurants and places to visit. The accommodation itself was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The farmhouse was lovely with comfy beds, a great shower and really clean. We didn't really make the most of the outdoor areas, but there are hammocks, a barbeque and sun loungers all with amazing views. As others have mentioned, you will likely become the owner of a couple of cats for your stay which we loved. On arrival, Laura had prepared a welcome hamper with some local exotic fruits, ground coffee and a bottle of Madeira Wine which was a lovely touch. If you run out or want any more fresh produce from the farm then the instructions are to just help yourself. What an amazing stay - just wish we could have stayed longer.

The Moinho is located in a beautiful valley with lots of nature around. It is a very relaxing environment, you don't hear anything except for the birds and the river.
Carlos is the best host you can imagine. He has lots of stories to tell, gives very useful hints, is always available for questions. And he makes a wonderful breakfast. The scrambled and fried eggs are made upon request. Every day he comes with another small surprise of local specialities.
The appartement is very cosy, on cooler days the wood stove makes it nice warm.
We totally felt at home.
We enjoyed staying here a lot, thanks for everything!

Location was good - 10 minute walk from town centre. Bus runs from Funchal to Sao Jorge - fantastic route if you take the longer journey via Ribeiro Frio (ie not through tunnels). Lots of taxis in town to get to walk start points. Self catering possible, but kitchen not the best layout for several groups cooking at once. Continental breakfast provided.
Offering a natural lagoon, this 1.4-hectares property is situated on the plateau of Santo da Serra, in Madeira Island. The pet-friendly Quinta do Pântano, Agro Turismo offers free Wi-Fi.

Great place for even long staying. Excellent starting point, friendly service, cleanliness and unique atmosphere. Everything you need to spend pleasant time in Madera.
For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
Spacious, luxurious and well thought out cabin. Fabulous shower with plenty of hot water. Very clean and well maintained. Comfortable bed and very tranquil rural location
Beautiful and quaint property of heritage farm value. Lovely views, gorgeous tropical and flowering plants, nice covered deck, very quiet and peaceful. Loved the chaise longue and deck furniture. Wool blankets a nice touch for sitting outside on cool mornings/evenings.
This accommodation is perfect for 2 couples because you have two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, is nearby several points of interest like mercado dos lavadores (Farmer's market), Rua de Santa Maria street where you can find many good restaurants, close to the port.
The host is amazing and can help you with infos about the objective of the island.
The apartament is fully equipped with all that you need.
The studio apartment had wonderful views of the ocean as well as a banana farm! The beds and pillows were very comfortable. And the hosts, Maria and Augostinho, were extremely helpful and hospitable. We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend the accommodation.
Room was lovely, furniture old but rustic with a colonial feel. Lots of lust outdoor plants. Staff were very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast had a calm relaxing vibe
Lot of equipments in apartman. Good communication.Very good location near of Farmosa beach. Supermarket abot 100 m from the accomodation. Cost free parking place in front of building. Comfortable bed.
The hostel has a great location, close to the Farmer's Market and Téléférico. We had a good view from the room and it was quiet.
Breakfast was correct and staff was really nice and helpful. We could leave our luggage in the hostel after check-out, so it was a great help for us!
We loved the hotel’s rural setting, high above Funchal, its old world luxury, and the quality of service offered by the staff. Best of all was the direct access to the extraordinary adjacent Palheiro garden. A very special hotel.
