For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
The farmhouse for guests is seperated from the house of the farmers. It has everything you need: a shared living space and well equipped kitchen. the location is magnificent. Snow was cleaned from the access road
No complaints at all. We stayed 3 days and had the whole farmhouse to ourselves, including full kitchen and bathroom. The views are unmatched; we were able to see the Northern Lights from the front door. At the end of our stay, Gudrun gave us a full tour of the farm where we got to meet all the cows and sheep! Cannot recommend enough, we'll be back.
The most delightful lodging of our entire 10 night stays in Iceland. And they have all been good. It's an adorable guesthouse with a spacious shared living area and kitchen. The bathroom provides ample space as well. Not so tight, like many places. I highly recommend staying at Eidi Farmhouse if you are staying on the Snæfellsjökull Peninsula.
This beautiful little cozy home offered a priceless view. The bed was comfortable and the view from the bedroom had us wishing to stay in bed all day. Huge plus that we were able to do our laundry here. Also, we love dogs so we fully appreciated the excited welcome from the dogs on the property. We were in Iceland a week and regret not booking more then one day here. This little farmhouse is top of the list when we hopefully return in the future!
Great location. It's a farm stay on a working farm -- you live at their place. It's not a hotel. It's clean and it's a perfect spot for an overnight if you're exploring the area.
This stay was by far our best in Iceland. The farmhouse is located next to a fjord with views of mountains. The house itself was very clean and quaint. There is a full kitchen for those who want to cook. The beds were comfortable. We were able to meet the many sheep, cows, rabbits, and dog on the farm and see the milking process. I would highly recommend adding this place to your Iceland trip.
