It was right opposite the place where I was supposed to be. Every member of the staff was respectful, kind and courteous. They even accepted cash in Indian Rupees for payment because my credit card was not yet activated. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and nutritious. Loved it. The dinner in the Italian restaurant was also very good. Authentic ravioli, cooked and seasoned to perfection. They have a lovely wine collection as well.

Hotel Shanker-Palatial Heritage Kathmandu is located in Kathmandu, next to Narayanhiti Palace Museum. The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool and spa. We visit Kathmandu every year or two and have for several years stayed at the Shanker before and after trekking. It’s close to Thamel but well away from the busy road, making it a quiet haven. The staff are very pleasant and attentive. The whole place is very clean, the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. A large selection of foods for breakfast, a swimming pool and large garden. Good value for a quality hotel.
