Alter Athens offers accommodation in the heart of Athens, within 1.2 km from Panepistimio Metro Station. Free WiFi is provided in the public areas. Great small hotel located in walking distance to major attractions. Our room was extremely clean which is always our first priority when travelling. Room was well equipped with individual air conditioning unit. TV with BBC News which is unusual. Plenty of drinking water in the fridge in the room. Bed was comfortable and the bed sofa where our son slept was just the same quality as a regular bed which was a plus. The host Aristo as well as young lady at the Front office was extremely helpful and accommodating, making us feel very very welcomed. Free drinks and coffee available at reception at any time. The place is a perfect base for exploring Athens. Our only problem was that we only had one night. We would have liked to stay for another 2 or 3 nights to take advantage of Aristos hospitality, and tips on where to go and what to do.

A boutique hotel indeed, and a very good one too, with friendly staff. The quality-price ratio is great for the Sappho suite we stayed in. I liked the terrace where breakfast was served. Very tasty spanakopita and bougatsa, by the way. The bottled water and coffee pods in the room were replenished every day and were free of charge, so what more could you ask for?

Early check-in and late check-out were no issue at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, I got an upgrade from a classic room to a two-bedroom suite.
