Markasa is more than a hotel, it is a home away from home. We had arranged an airport pick-up for our arrival, and were greeted by David, the owner, and immediately we were put at ease by his warm and kind ways. Upon arrival at Markasa, a warm Colombian coffee was waiting for us and we went upstairs to settle in to our room before taking a walk on the beach. Our room was impeccably clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were also very impressed by the excellent selection of TV options, with full access to both Netflix and Prime Video. An amazing home cooked breakfast is available (at an excellent price), we are very grateful to Sandra for her kindness and cooking. During our stay, David was available 24/7 to help us with anything we needed, including dinner delivery, transportation, information, and even coming with us to a nearby restaurant to make sure that we were treated like locals. We have so many positive things to say, but ultimately the most essential thing is that David, Carmen and Sandra made us feel like we were family.  The cherry on top was having our hearts warmed every day by Milagros, one of the sweetest dogs you will meet.

Hotel Summer offers beachfront accommodation in Cartagena de Indias, a few steps from Centro de Convenciones Las Americas and 1 km from Rafael Nuñez Airport. The breakfast was excellent, staff doesn't speak English but absolutely great using their phone to translate. Extremely friendly and polite.

The staff at Sonesta were extremely attentive and went out of their way to ensure guests were happy. The property was great for the cost, and a short drive to the main attractions. Would stay again!
