Nice and clean rooms with view. Bathroom was great. Very good buffet breakfast. Welcoming staff, which do his best to help even if not english speaking (traduction apps helped ). It was wonderful to stay in an old house on Gulangyu. I especially enjoyed the breakfasts--simple, delicious, and served in a wonderfully cozy room full of plants and small animals. The small staff has a nice human touch. Great all around! I also liked that the windows were operable, and that there were several outdoor patios to enjoy the balmy weather.

Situated along the historic Tunxi Ancient Street, Huangshan Old Street Courtyard is an old house of bricks and wood, a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle of cities. I was delighted with my stay. The experience of a hotel is obviously different than staying at this traditional house (e.g. colder, less comfy bed etc.) but this only added to the authentic charm. The position is fantastic, as I had my balcony on the high street. Clean environment. Loved the bed warmer. Communication with the host was superb in helping out with getting around the city. Would recommend to everyone. Great breakfast too.
