Offering a terrace and views of the mountain, Maison Italia 1029 is situated in Santiago. A flat-screen TV with cable channels, as well as an iPod docking station are featured. The location was ideal - in the midst of the lively Barrio Italia. The rooms were small, but beautiful and comfortable and the outdoor patios made them feel much larger and were a lovely respite. The breakfasts were incredible, but what really made this place stand out was the staff. Everyone was friendly and ready to help. We needed assistance with renting bikes, and a few other things and the woman at the front desk (I am so sorry I forgot your name) was always ready to help. Thank you! They packed us up breakfast to go this morning because we had to leave early for the airport. Wonderful place to stay!

Boasting a shared lounge, terrace and views of city, Hostal Vitalia is set in Santiago, 3.4 km from La Chascona. We made a last minute booking (like 8am) when a border closure scuppered our plans for heading to Mendoza. It was our 2nd time in Santiago so we knew we loved Barrio Italia and this was the perfect spot for us :-) Staff were v accomodating letting us drop off our bags super early. Our private room lacked floor space BUT it had heaps of natural light which more than made up for it! And for a great price too.
