My wife and I (an Aussie and an Italian) stayed at Casa Nirvana for two wonderful nights. The property is perfectly pristine, with a tranquil garden which has a lovely koi pond. You wake up to the sounds of birdsong and roosters and a coffee made by the host. Tarzan and Mișa, the hosts’ pet dog and cat, are beautiful members of the family. The hosts, Sever and his wife Silvia, are possibly the nicest people you will ever meet. They really made us feel at home and did everything they could to make sure we enjoyed our time in this stunning part of Romania. No sooner had we arrived and dropped our luggage off in our amazing room with an equally amazing view, Sever took us to a pier and organised for us to take a sightseeing boat trip, which was great and is a must do. Silvia even gave my wife a pair of her shoes (their feet are the same size!) and a pair of socks so we could walk up to the viewpoint looking out over the Danube on the nearby Ciucarul Mare the next day. We enjoyed a lovely dinner (țuica, mici, mustard and beer!) in the garden kitchen with our generous hosts on our last night. A truly unforgettable experience. We will be back for sure. I strongly recommend it for foreigners looking for a local experience.
