About 300 Czech residents live here – this is one of the most significant Czech community in Romania. You can speak Czech here, and find excellent local beer and tasty food (traditional Czech meals, but also with some impact of Romanian culinary tradition).

My wife and I (an Aussie and an Italian) stayed at Casa Nirvana for two wonderful nights. The property is perfectly pristine, with a tranquil garden which has a lovely koi pond. You wake up to the sounds of birdsong and roosters and a coffee made by the host. Tarzan and Mișa, the hosts’ pet dog and cat, are beautiful members of the family. The hosts, Sever and his wife Silvia, are possibly the nicest people you will ever meet. They really made us feel at home and did everything they could to make sure we enjoyed our time in this stunning part of Romania. No sooner had we arrived and dropped our luggage off in our amazing room with an equally amazing view, Sever took us to a pier and organised for us to take a sightseeing boat trip, which was great and is a must do. Silvia even gave my wife a pair of her shoes (their feet are the same size!) and a pair of socks so we could walk up to the viewpoint looking out over the Danube on the nearby Ciucarul Mare the next day. We enjoyed a lovely dinner (țuica, mici, mustard and beer!) in the garden kitchen with our generous hosts on our last night. A truly unforgettable experience. We will be back for sure. Conacul Grecului 1 ligger i Iloviţa, 14 km fra Iron Gate I og 32 km fra Rock Sculpture of Decebalus, og tilbyder indkvartering med gratis wi-fi og have med en terrasse og bjergudsigt. Great location in the countryside, quiet and also entertaining. Close to tourist attractions and towns but far enough for enjoying countryside life. An old country house refurbished and transformed by the owners/managers, into a beautiful guest house/hotel and is great for kids and adults alike. A lot of things to do in the front yard for entertainment, few surprises in the form of some lovely animals, swing, benches, outside dining place...the full experience. We have been pleasantly surprised and it beats by miles hotels or holliday accomodations I have stayed at in Europe, for more of the fee I have payed here. Gives the feeling of home away from home and that is thanks to the wonderful hosts who went beyond to cater for us and enjoy our stay. The food and its ingredients are local and the quality cannot be compared to that of any other hotel I have been, everything is homemade and the menu diverse. Compliments to the management/cook/owners who did everything with enthusiasm to accommodate our needs and spoiled us. Rooms are large and equipped, decorated in a rustic style and practical. It was a short stay which we will compensate for in the next few weeks when we will come again.
