A very lovely secluded country getaway. Very quiet with a lovely view of surrounding farmland. Staff were very friendly and polite and greeted us welcomely upon arrival and anytime they saw us relaxing outside.

Situated in National Park and only 16 km from Mount Ruapehu, Tongariro Estate Apartments and Holiday Home features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This holiday house has excellent views of Ruapehu, Tongariro and Ngauruhoe so we could see the changing face of these mountains throughout the day and night as the cloud and the mist came and went. The house is well placed to easily drive to the various access points to the Tongariro National Park, such as Whakapapa and Ohakune The kitchen was well equipped and spacious, so preparing meals was no hassle. The bedrooms were reasonably spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The hosts, Michael & Nicola, were very approachable, great to chat with and very helpful with local information. We would have loved to stay longer. This is a magical part of NZ (at least for an Australian !).

Awastone is situated just outside of Mangaweka, along the Rangitikei River. It includes a shared kitchen, bar, sun terrace and a restaurant, open on the weekends. Everything was perfect! Views and location were amazing
