My stay at Haven on Tau couldn't have been better. Christine met me when I arrived and explained everything I needed to know. I have ever possible amenity I could have needed and more. The indoor space was beautiful. I especially enjoyed the touches of art throughout.
The outside space was great but because I arrived when the sun was getting lower, it was too hot for me to sit out there very long. I also wish I had brought something to grill for dinner!
It's always helpful when a host provides a book with instructions and suggestions. Haven on Tau's book was fabulous.
The bed was comfortable as was the couch I sat on while planning my next day.
It was a great stay overall!

There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay. The apartment features family rooms. Great stay, house was super comfortable for our family, had everything we needed and was really clean and warm. Hosts were so friendly and helpful. Really easy to get to the shuttle for the Tongariro crossing. Excellent place to stay, highly recommended. Thank you!

Quiet. Peaceful location. We were there in winter so the warm beds with extra blankets and electric blankets were much appreciated. Loved the logburner and it was lovely to arrive to the fire being set and we just had to light it! Plenty of firewood and kindling. Home like environment. Extras provided in kitchen. Loved the collection of scraps for chook food!!
Luxury from the moment we arrived. This place has everything you need - close to local shops and restaurants, beautifully presented, clean and well equipped with everything you need. Highly recommend for a luxurious stay, we will definitely be back
Polite kind staff, quiet and peaceful
Several choices of cereals, fruits yoghurt and spreads for our toast. A great selection of herbal teas, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Freshly baked delicious blueberry muffins and chocolate on our arrival. Exceptionally clean. Lovely surroundings peaceful and quiet. Friendly hosts. Highly recommend. Thank you.
Graham was there to greet us. The place is tranquil, quiet and just so peaceful. Big enough for the 3 of us and the beds and pillows are so comfortable. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay another night as they were booked out. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks Graham and Larissa.
We were able to bring our dog with us. The host allowed us the use of their microwave to heat a meal which was so helpful. We were able to order an evening platter that they provided at a very fair charge for a lovely selection of meats, cheeses, breads, nuts, fruits and dips. The quietness and peace of the property in the countryside was most enjoyable.
The breakfast was quite adequate and we enjoyed what we had, nice selection of spreads. The location was very quiet & peaceful, lovely walks through native bush & around the lake just through the back gate.
This was excellent for the cost. It is a 'backpacker' type accomodation but was clean, cosy, everythinng worked well, staff were very helpful. If you are on a budget you will be very pleased, if you just like to save you will be very happy here. If you want luxury look elsewhere. But clean comfortable quiet handy, this is great. We are mid 60's and could easily pay more but like to save and we liked it and would stay here again.

Felt welcomed, looked after, the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. Plenty of space with luxurious feel without being overwhelming. Huge breakfast, ready when we wanted it. Offered a choice of hot or cold breakfast with plunger coffee. Nice quiet location close to amenities and the city without being in it. Bathroom was excellent, plenty of hot water, a large bathtub if you wanted a soak, lots of products and towelling. Wifi readily available. The host was very caring.
