This makes it very quiet and you don't notice the hustle and bustle of the city. But you can be in the city centre in 5 minutes on foot. The cottage is small but very well equipped and everything you need is there. Everything was very clean and very comfortable. The WLAN also worked really well. Breakfast is served directly on the terrace and it was one of the best of our entire trip. Everything is freshly prepared and you can order either a Sri Lankan or an English breakfast. Offering a restaurant, Chamodya Home Stay is located in Ella. Free WiFi access is available in the public areas of this country house. The accommodation will provide you with a seating area. I spend 2 nights here in November 2023. The location is just perfect if you wanna do hikes around, you get a beautiful view on Ella rock and Little Adam's peak and it is a perfect starting point for these trips. The place is very quiet, about 10mins walk from the main village road where all the restaurants are situated and you can walk on train tracks which makes it even faster. It is owned by beautiful, welcoming and such a kind Sri Lankan family and I would come back any time, it was very nice local experience for very decent price. The breakfast is huge and tasty, they can even pack you some snack for your trip. Hot water and WiFi is there too and with no problem, rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. They can also arrange tuktuk for fair price. Nothing negative really. Thank you for such a warm welcome!

Located in Ohiya, surrounded by mountains in the Horton Plains Range, Hill Safari - Tea Estate Villa mainly serves Sri Lankan cuisine. We had a wonderful two-day stay at Hill Safari in Ohiya. The view from the balcony was incredible, and I could have spent all day there. However, many hiking trails start from the hotel, like the Devil's Staircase, which shouldn't be missed. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with planning our treks. The food at the restaurant was very good, but you need to inform them in advance if you plan to dine in. Nights are quite chilly for Sri Lanka, and while there’s no heating, the blanket provided was sufficient. It's wise to bring something warm. The hotel is very close to Horton Plains, making it a great base for the park, though I personally preferred all the trails near the hotel.

What a lovely place, quaint and lush - Raja and Pushpa helped out with everything. Would definitely stay again. Go for the bungalow... Always!
