King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn slept in one of the bedchambers and walked through the ancient gardens at Thornbury Castle - A Relais & Chateaux Hotel, a Tudor castle near the Cotswolds and Welsh... Like that it is surrounded by big open country side. Is well maintained. That they have thought about guests experience, from food to service.

Room had blind that shut on the roof light. Very quiet and peaceful. Shower was excellent with fixed and hand shower. Breakfast food was great - blackcurrant live yogurt, porridge, real orange juice, good choice of teas and coffee, chocolate croissants that tasted amazingly fresh seeing they had been put out the night before. Contactless checkin worked well and I liked seeing my name on the door in an elegant font. There were lots of plugs for charging devices in the room and they were easily accessible with good WiFi.
