Within 15 minutes’ drive of 4 of the Isle of Islay’s whisky distilleries, Skerrols House has uninterrupted countryside views and is just a 5-minute drive from the coastal village of Bridgend. Located in the centre of the island, Bowmore Distillery is less than a 10-minute drive away. Wow. I have never been more pleased with the overall experience of my stay at in inn/hotel. From the moment we arrived, Thomas greeted us so warmly, gave us a tour of the property, and answered all of our questions. The house is wonderful. Nicely appointed and cozy living room, reading room, and gorgeous outdoor area. In the evening, the staff prepared the living room with a variety of self-serve refreshments, ice, and whisky glasses for those who wished to consume their recent purchases from the Islay distilleries. Our room was better than I could've asked for. We got the two twin beds room, it had a spacious and modern bathroom, and even a very cozy sitting area with TV. Beds were comfortable. We had to check-out early the next morning in order to make the 645 ferry back to the mainland, so we were bummed we couldn't take advantage of the provided breakfast. However, Thomas and his team went above and beyond to pack us sandwiches, juices, fruits, and waters for us to take onto the ferry. Islay is just beautiful, and I would love to go back one day. When I do, I will be sure to stay at Skerrols House again! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Islay!

Beautiful house, comfortable and relaxed. Fiona has decorated the house in classic country house style, with a story behind every piece. Fiona has great local knowledge. She is a fantastic cook and the breakfasts were extremely plentiful and delicious.
Margaret and Blair are the perfect hosts, and have created a beautiful haven of serenity. Luxurious and total class. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else when coming to Islay now. Absolutely everything about Kilmeny is perfect!
We stayed in a second property on the next street, it was quiet, clean and comfortable.

The location is very quiet, in the middle of a beautiful landscape. Great for a nice morning walk. Still, within a short drive you can find restaurants, distilleries etc. Thomas is a very friendly and welcoming host. Rooms are great, spacious, newly renovated. Breakfast ist awesome! Try the scrambled eggs any version. Very nice garden to sit with a beer or for kids to play. Will come again any time we’ll have the chance. My whole family was very happy here.
