The property is better than advertised. Everything was well appointed, immaculately clean, outstanding hospitality and service, and wonderful food. Ana and Susana were our main hosts and could not have been better. It's in an idyllic countryside setting and we enjoyed the infinity pool, the goats on the farm, picking blueberries from their plentiful trees, Gabriel and Xavier the melodic parakeets, and the KING of the property, his Majesty Brunica!

We got the tree house and just loved it. We went on a weekday in May and the place was empty and super quiet. All we could hear were birds singing. I don1t know if it is that good when the place is busier. The pool was great and the room super comfy and clean.

Bernardes house is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a peaceful holiday. The family gave us lots of good tips for days out and great local restaurants. The house is beautiful and really comfortable.

Both the place and service level was that of a 5-star luxury resort. Very beautiful and modern property, with spacious common areas. They have a gorgeous pool surrounded by nature, and they are building a spa and indoor pool. We notice that even the little things like coffee machine and pots were from a good brand. They did not spare any expense to make their guests feel comfortable.
The service from Anna was impeccable, she was welcoming and helpful with suggestions.
The location is excellent - south bank of the Douro and very private yet open. Also very quiet.

The Octant Duro is an outstanding property. Built right into a hillside on the Duro River it is an architectural masterpiece. It is peaceful with plenty to do - hiking, swimming, kayaking and stand up paddling. Lovely spa and the restaurants and staff are truly first rate.
