The house is located in the heart of a traditional Portuguese village and had everything for our comfort including delicious homemade cakes and bread baked in the village. The refrigerator was stocked with all that we needed for a substantial breakfast including fresh melon with mint, oranges for juice, ham, cheese, yoghurts and homemade preserves which we enjoyed under a fig tree in the private patio area. It was very hot when we stayed but the house has airco in both the bedrooms and living room. Picote is well located for exploring Tras os Montes and neighbouring Spain. Margarida and Antonio could not have been more kind and considerate and we hope to return soon.
