This is a true gem! We arrived early but texted the owner who got there after a few minutes. The welcome was very warm with lots of information about the history of the house, things to do and places to go in the surrounding areas etc. There were also welcome drinks and snacks that were served on the beautiful terrace with a great view of the forests and the town below.
The whole house was lovingly decorated, the rooms were very well laid out and the beds super comfortable. The bathrooms were small but very clean and the shower was lovely.
One of the best things was the breakfast that we could choose from a menu and was prepared for us freshly every morning by the host's parents (it's a true family business). We could eat it at a time of our choice and enjoyed the fresh air and the view from the terrace while eating.
Communication was pleasant and we got by with a mix of English (the host) and French (the parents).
We had a wonderful stay (unfortunately, two days only) and would really love to come back one day!

The Pousada is a very well recovered old monastery with plenty of very nice social areas and confortable rooms. Located outside Belmonte on a quiet hill. Breakfast was good. Price was very competitive.
A beautiful hotel with stunning views of the mountain and countryside. Very historical building which is in top class condition. Staff very friendly and informative. Food very good.
wonderful peaceful and quiet location and a really imaginative adaptation of an old Monastery en route to the Serra Estrella by motorcycle. Great meal, lovely waiting staff and exceptional own wine and atmospheric lounges in the former ancient buildings and lovely dining room with terraces overlooking the valley. Our room was on the lower level and was well appointed with a lovely sunny balcony above a gorgeous wild garden thrumming with nature.
