The hotel room has a magnificent view. We can see the grass field and sunrise in the morning. The hotel room is excellent, neat, clean, comfortable and tidy. The staff was nice and helpful. We went for the horse riding tour the other day and the staff were happy to explain the horses to us.

I love this place--and I can't remember the last time I wrote that on a booking.com review. Brand new wooden cabins squeezed in a tight valley in the middle of the woods, next to a little stream of water. The lodges owner lives in a cabin next door, warm welcome and always willing to help. The cabin was squeaky clean, had everything I could desire and even more (a piano!). The private onsen is a few steps away from the cabin, if you want something more social there's plenty of public onsens around (one down the road has a view on the river). Quiet, fresh air, plenty of hikes a short drive away. I stayed in the middle of winter, heating and thermal insulations were on point.
42 km from Mount Aso in Oguni, Kominka provides accommodation with access to a hot spring bath and open-air bath. The property has quiet street views, and is 13 km from Komatsu Jigoku.

back to nature. Small cabin, bring food with you easy access to pick up supplies nearby. Onsen is authentic with some sulphour smells- to be expected and probably very good water for the skin.
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes based in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, such as trekking, birdwatching and cycling.
Both breakfast and dinner are amazing. We had a group of 10 people and we all enjoyed the stay. Although the hotel is rather remote, there is peaceful, natural scenery around.
An quiet spacious country house on the forest edge with lovely views of Mt Aso. Driving & check in instructions were clear and easy (indeed Google Maps cannot be followed). Appreciated the bag of rice from the hosts as well as various information such as the nearby hike. There are only two Western single beds, more travelers will have to enjoy the futon instead.
The welcome tea and snack was refreshing. The breakfast was quite alright, no frill and nothing fancy. The property is a 2 storey house at the corner, it was quiet and peaceful. The luxurious and modern bubble bathtub is very enjoyable. It is a short walk from Aso Temple and there are small eateries within 5 mins walk. Ample parking space.
The hotel is in the golf resort, located near the west Aso mountain. It is about 10 min driving distance from the downtown train station and 30 min from the Aso summit. Great location if you want to seek a quiet and peaceful experience in winter.
Bath hall is at the separate building, the hot spring is definitely a must-visit.
Breakfast and dinner buffet are nice. A little pricy but worthwhile.
Near to the Station, Host explained everything about the area and hiking/ sightseeingspots to us through well prepared pictures/maps etc.

This guesthouse is amazing! The room is very big and comfortable. It is quiet. I could hear frogs at night. Everything is clean, you can use the laundry machine for free. There is rice and noodles in the common area for a small fee and free coffee and tea. On top of that, the owner gives plenty of information about hiking Aso volcano. Highly recommended!
it was perfect! very warm and genuine, place was quiet and perfect for sleeping before hiking mt aso. a guide and hand drawn map is prepared for you as well. only 6 guests there at any time and alot of communal spaces for you to get to know them. bbq services are available. he also makes roasted sweet potato for you if you want, and drip coffee in the morning, all complimentary. rly a perfect and super value for money stay
- The owner is super friendly and supportive. Travelling in the countryside of Japan is not always easy for international travellers but he makes you relax during your stay!
- Lovely hospitality. You can enjoy bonfire every night.
